An excerpt from Nicky J's article on the Athletic re: Robertson FWIW;

Yet, the steal of Washington’s offseason so far may be Robertson, a smaller but versatile corner who can play in the slot and outside at corner. Robertson played primarily out wide last season for the Detroit Lions, but spent the majority of his 2024 defensive snaps inside.

Despite being only 5-foot-9 and 180 pounds, Robertson plays fearlessly, and is scrappy in coverage. He led the Lions with 12 pass breakups last season and has played beyond his size throughout his career.

Take his interception in coverage against Ja’Marr Chase in Week 5 of last season. Or when he stayed glued to Justin Jefferson and nearly had a pick in the end zone in Week 16. Or this pick of Jordan Love in 2023 or this pick of Daniel Jones later that season.

“He’s a skilled player,” Lions coach Dan Campbell once said of Robertson. “He’s tenacious, he’s feisty, he’s confident and teammates love his energy because he does, he brings it all the time. He brings it in practice, brings it in the games, he’s a ball guy. And he is, he’s kind of one of those guys that sparks our defense, the other guys around him.”

An interesting tidbit from Breer.

I'm probably reading too much into this, but given I, personally (a random dude on a couch) would GLADLY have spent 16M/year of Josh Harris' money on Lloyd, I do wonder about AP's strategy in the negotiations.

Like did he call Lloyd's camp and ask their price, and they said 20M and AP said "cool, have a nice day" and hang up? Or were there back and forths? Does he have a number below 15-16M he was at and refused to budge? Was it a little of both where we came in initially at, say, 12M, they came in at 20M, and instead of putting an offer in the middle on the table before hanging up he just said he'd call back later and in the meantime the Carolina deal came together?

I need answers.

Gonna file a FOIA request against this team. They'll be so confused they might even respond to it :p

Never heard this team linked with Lloyd, not even a little, so my guess is they didn't check in.

That would’ve concerning.

Given Daronte’s intro presser he seemed to like our linebackers… which… kinda scary.

I mean.... I'd probably say that he spoke kindly about our LBers..... no need to come in ****ing on the room

That was my thought too. Of course, we have no idea if we were in on Lloyd or not. But… if we weren’t, that seems more ominous, no?

He probably sees fast, aggressive LBs (Luvu and Magee) that would fit well into the system he is trying to build. Look for Luvu to have a resurgence this year under a more attacking style of defense. Seemed like he was handcuffed last year with the way Witt was calling things.

Yeah the whole organization and heck, the fan base were handcuffed by Whitt's play calling

As Standig said the other day, no noise leading up to FA at LB, don't recall any name dropping at LB from Keim either. As was following rumors on twitter-ESPN, etc also no link to a specific LB and when it came to Lloyd some team mentions but not this team.

Whether you think they should love Lloyd and chase him or a specific LB that's cool. But I never thought there was a shot they'd sign Lloyd just based on there were no links to this team to him. There are plenty though of links with this team to other players, so I am expecting some signings but as to LB got no idea. It's a stacked draft at LB and I know they like MaGee.

My only surprise so far is no RB, some of the links tied to them are gone.

Listening to Keim just now, he's saying they are far from done.
 
Always bothered me about Lloyd that he only played that well in his contract year. That contract could easily turn into a “Payne”.
 
Giants are going to be a load. If they get Dart figured out they get good.

Good listen on all three adds yesterday. Logan is super geeked out over Oweh and surprised at how Settle has developed a lot of moves over the years

 
Well Dart ain’t it imo even if he does manage to stay healthy. But yeah I don’t like the rest of the team they’re putting together.
