Dan Snyder would lock people in the Morton's until they signed. Say what you will, but prime Snyder was a closer.

They say Eddie Royal is still in the Morton's to this day...

The major difference is the 30 mil per year center Snyder was able to woo into submission this year would have been cade mays

I wonder if this AP stuff is always true or just things that he leaks to the media himself, after the fact. I was on a Colts board earlier and they never posted one thing about the Commanders. All of their nfl tweets were mostly about NE and SF trying to pay over 30mil for him.

I will say that a lot of the fans in Indy aren't exactly thrilled with the deal. They don't think that he is worth that much, some don't think that he is a #1, he hasn't been able to run the whole tree, make short catches, score TDs, and they think that it's too much money for someone who only catches 3 passes per game even with his average ypc

What's crazy is that Trent Williams, Shanahans first pick way way back in 2010, is still the best OT in the entire league. He's going to reset the market, again. That is why Tunsil signing already is so underrated. It's the opposite of what Jerry Jones would have done. AP got it done early.

In other news...

Snyder would tell Cerrato to go find a center right now, then Cerrato would get into that fight for Linderbaum but win, paying him 30+M a year with an unimaginable amount guaranteed, more than any OT in the entire league, for a center.

AP is being cheap, maybe it's Harris, who knows, but at least they aren't paying guys like Pierce or Linderbaum 33M a year.

If cap rollover could be traded in for bonus W’s we’d be multiple SB winners under this regime. Can’t wait to wear my shiny new SB-era burgundy jersey with “CAP HEALTH” on the back. That’s why I watch the sport, that’s what we love about this beautiful game
Chill, my man. We have a young QB and a newborn OC. The team's got their backs. The offense needed a revamp, so they got rid of the healthy receiver and a center. Not only that, but they also got a shiny new DE, a not so shiny old CB, and a shiny refurbished NT? What more could Blough want? They'll let the other teams overpay at the buffet, and then swoop in when the table is ready to be cleared. It's foolproof. And they wouldn't even have get locked into long contracts either.

Are you talking about the Pierce deal?

Yeah, he's not a #1 and nobody has ever pretended that he is. That is why that contract is fucking nuts. He might be a 50 catch, at best, guy, probably last year only, but he is still not ever going to catch more than 55% of his targets. He's like us with Ricky Sanders in 1989 but even more unreliable. By the time we had a SB team it was all Gary Clark.

Damn, I just saw on TV that they paid Settle 3 years 25M.

Is he really that good after all of these years?

No wonder they keep bringing Wagner back, he's here for like 6-8M a year and he is a difference maker.

Hell, they just got Mariota back for 7M. That has to be one of the best deals in the entire league. Mariota could probably start and win half his games.

The Settle deal isn’t fully revealed yet, but given the guarantees weren’t reported and bragged about as part of the initial report (which always comes from the agents these days) I think we can assume it’s probably closer to a 2-year deal for less than 16M. No way those initial fluff numbers are remotely representative or we’d know the guarantees already

Thanks; I think there is real wisdom in what they are doing and wisdom in your post. We got dismantled by injuries and by a defensive coordinator who was a bit below level. With what we have left, and what is still out there in salary cap, I believe we will have a solid core for next year.

Doubs, Okonkwo, Rachaad White looks like next tier group we could be in on.

We had been linked with Chenal right? Although AP must be tempted by Greenlaw.

Oh, and he loves a trade. Time yet.

We will need to get a hit at receiver today unless some of them linger a little.

Need a safety, but that probably won’t be today.

Need a linebacker. Maybe not today.

I’d say White and a receiver will be necessary today, but we’ll see.

Probably be quiet today for the most part.

I’d love to see some action though.

I doubt he’s in on Greenlaw. Injury riddled players don’t seem to be any kind of option for us.

As a player I’d love Greenlaw. But he has to be on the field. Probably a lot of research will have to go in on him; health, why was Denver good to let him go, etc.

I am thinking White was a contingency plan and they try to sign him today.

BTW did they tender CRod? I don't recall seeing that but expected it

If they don't sign Doubs or Chig it feels like a mega miss on weaponry. Perhaps they have a player up there sleeve as a contingency. I was hoping they signed both of them or Jennings, who I think is still available also

Really like Chenal but I'd say they go offense next

To me it is a bad look if APs contingency plan at weapons is Aiyuk and White, we need a lot more. But hey, at least you get two guys that have been vocal about wanting to play in Washington and would appease Jayden by bringing in his buddies in prep for his big extension contract

There is nothing much behind Magee and Luvu, and they are only serviceable imo. Need to add a stud to this group. Maybe they are in love with Styles or like another LB better as a scheme fit. We better not sign Greenlaw.

Any news on that Green Bay center that was cut? Any interest? I’ve only see some interest in Cushenberry, but he has past injury issues.
Oh yeah, we do still need a C don't we, ugh. Do they go after Lloyd Cushenberry who seems like the next best younger guy?

I'm fairly certain they'll come away with either Doubs or Jennings today. I'd love to end up with Lloyd and White too.

Lloyd? Devin? He signed with Carolina.

Or did you mean Cushenberry?

Looks like the Eagles took some big hits in FA and have failed to move AJ Brown and his big contract and bigger ego lol

If we could manage to get Brown for our 3rd… I know, it’s a pipe dream. But could you imagine?

Absolutely no shot Roseman sends him to us, especially only for a third.
