(New Poll) The Washington Commanders Brand 2.0: Beer Drinkers and Hail Raisers

How do you feel about the Commanders Brand 2.0?

  • Vastly improved, if this is THE brand moving forward I’m satisfied.

  • I like the direction, but I still feel more to do. I will/have specified in thread.

  • I don’t like this new direction. I didn’t like the old either. They can’t make this work for me.

Assuming I can get tickets to the game I'm going to need a new jersey, so watching this all closely. I've refused to buy any Commanders stuff so far (and my Redskins jerseys don't fit anymore ). Wore a white Reed to Wembley so was extra pumped when he scored.

Get yourself the white Super Bowl era Commander’s jersey. The name Commanders is not on that jersey and they are virtually identical to the ones the team had when we won our first Super Bowl in 1983. More than likely that is becoming the Main jersey anyway.

Cheers mate!! :you-rock-emoticon:

Except for the ugly black unis, it sounds good. I'd also like to see them put the retro spear back on the helmet but that ain't happening. The "W" they have now looks gaudy.

They can put the spear back in the design IF they don't include a headdress feather identifying it as native American.

I know I’m in th minority, at least on this board, but I like the black alternate unis. I don’t like the W on the front of the helmet.

For once or twice a season, I like them.

I think all of this sounds great.

I don't like the black uniforms, but having a red logo on it helps give a slight little bit more difference than the both the Steelers and Commies having light colored logos on their black black helmets and uniforms.

I do find it odd that I'm a generally grumpy 50 year old GenXer and I like the black uniforms.

Maybe it's because I idolized Darth Vader growing up. Who's to say?

Actually, my favorite fictional character growing up was Zoro. And I am a huge fan of the Princess Bride, with Wesley as the Man in Black. I also really liked Johnny Cash. Lots of black "uniforms." Maybe that's it.

Anyway, I like a black alternate uniform. I don't think ours were top tier, I didn't like the helmet design at all. But I like them in concept. Maybe if they re-work them a bit they will still appeal to me and be more tolerable to others.

Well - I'm pretty sure the 'battle blacks' have outsold every other jersey in recent memory and it's not close. So while some of the more 'purist' among us might object, they have been a big success in terms of jersey sales. I think 'Redskinizing' the black jerseys with greater use of the B&G (as they seem to be moving towards) vs. Steelers-look-a-likes would go a long way towards satisfying those that would rather we not have a black alternate jersey at all.

Another grumpy Gen Xer here. I actually don’t mind having a black uni. I just really didn’t like the one they came up with. Partially because it look too much like the Steelers, but really it was the helmets that I didn’t like the most. Not a fan at all of the numbers on the side of the helmet.

This new helmet pictured above with the taco holder on black looks great to me. Switch to that, and add a little more burgundy to the jerseys to differentiate from the Steelers and I’ll be on board.

Count me in as a grumpy old man posse (I’m 54) and still to this day I think (not only cause I’m a fan) that PSU and Alabama have the best looking uni’s in football… give me the plain all whites with no stripes and then a dark jersey for home games (simple, easy and elegant imho) I’d be happy with going back to the originals for the Commanders… no black alternates or another helmet… that’s all for $ making purposes and imho the NFL already makes way to much $ from us

Maybe it's a grumpy GenX thing because I love the blacks as well--the best part is the subtle camo worked in. It can be cleaned up a bit, especially the helmet, but I love the jersey. I have a black 5

I’m definitely expecting a redesigned black uni. Those have been heavily discounted as well, even the higher end version. The only ones that have not are the Super Bowl era. The original black helmet with the numbers on it has been absent from the team store for quite a while as well. I think the only thing that we have currently that isn’t being touched is the Super Bowl era. Everything else will be different. Hopefully the new designs bridge the gap in the fan base. For most of us anyway.

Wow, a lot of grumpy 50-something GenXers on a message board. Who would ever have guessed?

I liked having a black alternate uni, but I didn't love our version of it. I didn't like the helmet, and the uniform in general looked almost too video-gamey created by AI or something. I liked them better than the ketchup and mustard unis, but I REALLY hated those.

If they go back to a more traditional 80's look and feel, and they have a simpler black uni, and fix the godawful helmets, I think they would look really slick.

If they could figure out how to pair a Darth Vader helmet on a black football uniform, that would be epic. :p
