I think that he will have his best statistical season so it will be hard but in some ways it does make me feel like we will draft a WR because if we are good then we may not draft this high again and it may be hard to find a cheap replacement

You don't need a bevy of top 10-15 selections to get the personnel equation right if you have the right scouts and talent evaluators.

Anyone can sit at the top of the draft at #1 and select Caleb Williams.

Yeah tbh, I am less concerned with where we draft versus the team's scouting group able to go after the best players available when it is our turn to draft and then also the organizations ability to develop players. That is why I am still okay with trading down if it nets more picks. At the NFL level you likely aren't building a winner if you aren't developing 2nd, 3rd, & 4th rounders into at least solid starting players anyway.

I don’t. Not buying that he is going to get 10-15 targets a game. He doesn’t separate well enough and win quick enough for that type of target share

Rare to hear a coach tout the player they coach. I kid, but yeah of course. I don't give a crap that Jason likes his own player, because he should. Any college coach that doesn't tout his own players would be a shame, its part of the idea of recruitment that you'd back your guys as they head to the pros.

You are touting Tyson as the guy and he had a good college coach but its Tate who had the best Wr coach in college, if we are going to play that card.

You mention Bailey seems to be falling. I wish. I've somewhat written him off because of too much talk that he can go as high as #2 to the Jets, including in a McShay segment I watched yesterday.

I think Bain should be there at 7, he's the dude that seems to be falling, if there is anything to the draftnik buzz.
 
Bain does appear to be the "odd man out", but that could change depending on how his pro day goes, assuming he works out

Maybe.

So much focus on his arms. But he also is short. He also has small hands. And some think he's meh of an athlete. If he shows that he is or isn't meh as an athlete that might move the needle some one way or another.
 
Who were the top OT's Bain played against? Doesn't look like an overlap of schedule with Bailey. Pity we can't do an Apples to Apples comparison.

Yes, I know that a coach will definitely tout his player but being coached by a HOF player at your specific position who was in particular great at the very subject we are speaking of carriers far more weight than just having a good position coach specifically on the subject we are speaking of and not overall coaching. Add to that, we have not seen Bain have any negative effects in that area on any level. We are just projecting that he will which is odd.

Also, if you heard them, Taylor's comments were gen9. Not just fluff. Coaches will be honest in certain situations. We've heard a lot of coaches critique their guys also. Even Blough was just basically saying that Sinnot needs to improve before he can play more. Saban critiqued players alll the time. You can tell when things are fluff and when someone is genuinely high on a player.

Also, I never said that Bailey was falling in the draft. I specifically said that I pick Bain of the guys who I think will be there and with Tyson being taken off the board but I didn't think that Bailey would be there and I felt that Washington would definitely pick him if so. I actually said that I feel like Bailey is falling on this board, not the draft. It seems like a lot of people here aren't too fond of him.

Ryan Anderson played for arguably the greatest college coach in the history of the game, one of the greatest defensive minds. Ryan produced at Alabama. He was a dog. He was a tone setter. Granted not at Bain's level but pretty darn good. He sucked in the NFL, what happened?

I said some see him as below average not even average as to his athleticism.

Watching him, its tough for me to personally gauge how good of an athlete he is. Doesn't matter how many plays he makes -- that's not how its gauged. If you are sold on his athleticsm, cool. But teams typically don't think they can figure this out on youtube. It's typically in person scouting and combine and prodays. Bain decided to forgo the combine exercises. Will see if he does them at his proday.
