Are there really that many people following JD tweets?

Anyway, she hasn't told the coaching staff how to run the offense like RGme's father was doing back in the day.

It is definitely odd from the outside.

I imagine things starts to change for some when a kid hits the age and performance level where it becomes clear he could earn a half billion dollars in the NFL someday. Oftentimes that becomes the family business.

I listened to that podcast when it came out.

In defense of Ryan Porter, he actually said Jayden works with another QB coach. He said Jayden sprinlkes some work with him and that is on his footwork.

But yeah Jayden's mom, clearly has a strong personality. Among other things:

A. Pushed fans to stop with the RG3-injury comps
B. Liked a post that centered on Jayden not having good WRs

I hope not. I hope it’s just the actions of an over-protective mother and not one that is too fond of her child’s spotlight. Although I can’t help but feeling that both parts are equally in play.

She’s not just mom, she’s his business manager and likely soon to be agent. For better or worse. But she’s not just some helicopter mom demanding certain playcalls.

Between her and Nabers his BFF liking posts trashing the quality of his WRs -- that's part of the reason why I suspect Jayden isn't too wild about how little Peters has done for him as to weapons.

Thing is she has put herself in the position to be speaking for him. So if she’s the bad guy, so is he. Nothing against her, but these little things are adding up and sooner or later there’s probably going to be a big thing. I don’t expect her to ever change, but I would hope to see Jayden at some point make the decision to cut the umbilical cord.

Dudes with mothers like this do not change until—maybe—they marry a strong-willed woman into the family and the barriers start to go up. Absent that I’ve never known a momma’s boy to change lol, ever.

Would it be cooler to not hear from our QBs mom? Sure. But I don’t think she’s really crossed any lines either.

If he stayed healthy and played better last year, folks would be tripping over themselves to talk about what a great mom she is for the kid she created.

We really have no idea how Jayden feels about his mother managing his business affairs. I’m not sure what being an adult has to do with it. She has an MBA, and became a certified NFL agent to learn the business.

Like I said, I would prefer not hear from her. But at the same time she’s qualified and really hasn’t done anything out of pocket that would constitute a kid cutting ties with his mother that’s looked out for him since birth. It’s going to take more than some fans not liking a few tweets.

I think I recoil a bit when I see his Mom doing stuff like this, but I also ask myself, have I seen sports agents do similar things and I kind of shrug it off as image management or something along those lines?

She's his manager. If it wasn't his mom, and it was instead a 'hired' representative, this would be a non-issue. It could be a different conversation whether or not she 'should' be his representative in that capacity, but that's ultimately up to him.

I think there is something to having someone that's a bit more disconnected to take emotion out of it, but I can absolutely see trusting your mother more than anyone else in the world to put your best interest as their priority.

Yet is the key word there. It’s been a little problem, not a big problem. So far. And hopefully it stays that way. Seems like we all agree that in the very least, it’s “not ideal“.

And again, this is nothing against her. She’s doing everything she can to help her child as any good parent would. It’s on Jayden himself to either make the change or keep it under control. And I’m confident he will when he’s comfortable doing so. Hopefully soon, but that’s just my opinion.

We all love Jayden and want to support him so I get why people want to poo poo this. I’m not trying to make a big deal about it either other than to say it’s not normal and we should not be surprised if it does cause problems at some point. We’ve seen it happen too many times.
