I’m a bit worried that Jones seemed to name all of our linebackers as pieces he’s excited to work with.

But I think he has a good head on his shoulders. So if he thinks some combo or Luvu, McGee and Medrano can play for us then I’m willing to give it the benefit of the doubt.

Unless I missed it the one LB he didn't mention was Wagner. Is that a nod towards a given that he wont be here next year? I also found it interesting that he mentioned that Luvu was a guy they highlighted in Minnesota in his defensive meetings.

Don't know if the Eagles let him go but Dallas Goedart is a TD magnet if that's part of Quinn's wants -- 11 Tds last year.

As for running backs, Travis Etienne feels like fits well. Looks like they are going heavy outside zone, want pass catching ability, TDs -- all scream Etienne among FAs.

It would be pretty unusual to mention a FA openly in an interview like that, because we don’t have him under contract.

Don’t get me wrong, I don’t think Wagner fits really and I personally don’t want to see him back.

But I wouldn’t take these comments as evidence of that, you don’t usually talk about people who you aren’t guaranteed access to.

Like I doubt Blough has mentioned Deebo off-handedly but I also doubt that would mean anything, because he’s no longer under contract here right now.

Parkinson is a guy I didn’t know was going to be available, he’s interesting. Late breakout who can block, shined down the stretch for the Rams and can do a bit of everything, has played in the sort of offense Blough is adapting. Redzone threat, seam threat, can block like I said and rumble after the catch.

8 TDs, granted Stafford is a stud so it makes it easier. Good player. I'd be intrigued if the Rams cut him.

The more I digest it, the more it screams to me this offense. If they sign a RB, I am thinking either Etienne or Rashaad White.

So, given this is the fun season...Lets say we sign 6 impact FAs with our soon-to-be 100m in cap space. Realistically fitting under that, which 6 do you sign that turns the team into a contender? You win any competition between you and any other NFL team that wants to sign them.

Great question. I've been tempted to make a thread about how we would spend our monies to address each perceived hole. Which likley available player and with what salary number.
It would be fun to see what each of us think

Going expensive but not too crazy -- be too easy to just say every top FA but lol I do come close to being over the top. Also I try to think of dudes who likely return to their teams like Mafe, Chaisson. Teams that have that aura of being great in the coming future and FAs might give hometown discounts -- ala what this team was last off season.

Look at all the Minny LB's on the list. Our guys are going to move everywhere.

New DC specifically mentions Luvu going downhill more. He's going to blitz him way more.

Yep, mentioned wanting to see him rushing on a RB. Smart, given he didn’t do well as more of a true pass rusher taking on OL last year. He does better shooting a gap and breaking through a lone pass protector to get to the QB

Wagner is a goner... Luvu isnt going anywhere.. they played him out of position and frankly mis-used players all over.. it might work out long term because they could resign him for less. Min D relies on athletic LBs... i have a feeling a couple on this team might get more playing time and look much better in the new system. Still need a stud MLB.. most likely an FA target

Part of the reason they used him out of position for much of the year is by week 3 we had virtually no DE’s left on the roster and they tried to make Luvu a DE out of necessity. It didn’t work but this is one thing I don’t blame on Luvu or the team. They were so short handed they had to do something.

And being clear, that’s part of the reason. Joe Witt being whitless is another

Those would be players who are better than the players we have.

So I’d vote that would be good. I doubt they could get all of them but I guess we’ll see
