Mike Wise had as much to do with us losing the Redskins name

The thing that drove me batty about Wise in particular was he was only interested in his own Echo Chamber, not to relitigate that whole fiasco, but he would insult and immediately anyone--even Native Americans--who liked or defended the name, no matter the issue.

Second post in a row I'll plug a Galdi podcast. He had Richard Justice, who worked for the post during the Redskins glory years, to talk about the Post, and media in general.

Entirely different and really interesting and educational.

If you have a few minutes, you will be entertained, enlightened and educated by listening to this segment on Galdi.

Man - I tried listening but that guy was in ‘flight of ideas’ mode. He started talking and (to me) it was just one long run on sentence with random anecdote after anecdote. I guess different strokes… I found it almost unlistenable…

I did turn it off after 5 min or so - maybe it got better

Logan’s draft pod is back on the Commanders’ pod network. Some of his takes can be a bit crazy but it’s him at his best because he doesn’t need to care as much about what he says. I really like his producer Jason who actually has good football knowledge but has a humble everyman approach as he asks the right questions. There was a good educational segment on a pod last year talking about EDGEs where he got Logan to explain what each of the pass rush moves means

Separately, I never listened to Grant on radio but I enjoy him on Take Command. For those of you who dislike him, maybe the pod format is a better one for him. Huge upgrade over Craig Hoffman who didn’t know what he was talking about and would butt in with awkward and well times jokes only he thought was funny

I fucking cannot stand Danny Rouhier. He and that fat putz partner of his got up on their soap box and grandstanded for the name to change. They were so very proud of that. Now? I think it’s extremely clear upon initial reading, but now I can’t criticize Grant Paulsen’s reading comprehension without criticizing yours, so you’ve taken my fun away. Damn.

As someone who read the Post sports page every morning for most of my life, and still subscribe online I'm pretty upset at their decision. But I also get it. I agree this is not the same paper I loved, I agree it was a conscious decison to hire out of town columnists who liked to stir shit up. But it was still my paper and I'll miss it. No reason to continue the subscription now.

The paper has been getting thinner and thinner. It was barely worth it before. Makes me really sad. I was so proud when my first piece in the Post was published. For a long time, it was such a good, such an important paper.

I fear the void the loss of our newspapers will bring about. TV, at best, is just postcards. No depth and rarely investigation. Just talking heads talking past each other.

The AJC printed it's last issue on NYE. We have no printed newspaper in Atlanta (home of the WORLD'S busiest airport, btw) anymore.

I've been here 37 years in April (5 years in Savannah, but we kept a house here when we were there). I found some copies of important events when I moved and remembering all the things that paper was to everyone who came into my bar for years...it made me sad.

Ours was down to nothing too (lack of Macy's ads ), but I still kinda dug the ink on my fingers and I'm old like that.
