The 2026 Draft Thread - 1st Round - 7th overall

I did a long write up on the Senior Bowl - finished all the prospects highlights and wrote it up nice... formatted. And the technical difficulties made it go poof.

So, quick run down:

-The big names are all guys we should watch
-Anthony Vincent, Duke is an edge to watch
-Tanner Koziol (Houston) is the sleeper tight end of the class and will be a major addition to someone's roster. Slightly developmental, but has a high ceiling and a pretty high floor... and he's raw.
-Malachi Fields (Notre Dame) and Ted Hurst (Georgia State) are the receivers to watch.
-Kyle Louis (Pitt) is a linebacker to keep an eye on.
-Gracen Holton (Oklahoma) is a quality DT

I didn't write down any of the 7 safeties I liked.

I got to go deeper into some prospects. I did watch some Fields, love his size, but has one of the worst seperator scores in this group against single coverage, and am wondering if poor Jayden can get some dudes who can get open. Even Terry is often a contested catch guy.
 
Dani Dennis Sutton, good size, good production throughout his career, rep for high intangibles.

I started watching him some, good bend and OK twitch for his size, nice rip move. Not the fastest get off. Shed blocks well in the run game.

 
An intriguing day 3 player to watch in the Senior Bowl practices and game. Could be a good 3rd down back that is versatile as he can play slot, outside and is supposed to be extremely good in pass protection.

Adam Randall Clemson is a highly versatile former Clemson offensive weapon (approx. 6'2", 230-235 lbs) who transitioned from wide receiver to a running back role in 2025. He is known for being a powerful, physical runner with solid hands, totaling 1,068 all-purpose yards and 13 touchdowns in his 2025 senior season.
Key Details and Highlights:
  • Versatility: Functions as a hybrid RB/WR/KR, offering value in backfield, slot, and return roles.
  • Playing Style: A physical runner who excels in power run schemes, known for breaking tackles and gaining tough yards.
  • 2025 Performance: Reeled in 5 of 6 targets for 8 yards and had 11 rushes for 35 yards in the Pinstripe Bowl vs. Penn State.
  • Career Stats: As of the end of his 2025 senior season, he recorded over 750 rushing yards and 750 receiving yards, a feat only matched by few in Clemson history.
  • Pro Prospect: Considered a, physical, "old faithful" type of player with potential as a multi-purpose back, often compared in size to Derrick Henry.
 
Wow. I had lost track of Adam Randall over the years because he never quite took off as a future fantasy stud, but he was on my early watch list as an incoming freshman at the time due to his perceived freakishness, in deep developmental FF leagues. I just went and looked and sure enough, have him bookmarked in early 2022 in my Devy folder. Cool to see he carved out a role for himself over the years, eventually. He and Jaleel Skinner are dudes are lost in the shuffle over the years who were big on my radar back then. So many of these guys just never emerge. Thanks DWinzit I’ll have to watch some of Randall these days and see if he’s a mid-late round find or UDFA type or what.

Edit: first thought watching just a couple short clips from his Senior year is that he reminds me of a guy who took the opposite journey (RB —> WR instead of the other way around) in Jalen Hurd. In that he’s obviously athletic but pretty upright and a little stiff and unnatural but still has promise. Ironically, he was a SF 49ers mid round pick in 2019. Who knows how Peters specifically felt about him but he was a big voice in that FO at the time. Funny

I watched part of the Senior Bowl Practice and the first half of the East West Shrine Game. I recommend watching the practices and drills. There a lot of really good players involved.

The Shrine game was a little hard to watch. The teams are have less talent, not coached as well, and there were way too many players on each team. My understanding is there were quite a few that never even made the field even though there were constant substitutions, which would be a shame if true.

I know AP is at the Senior Bowl, hopefully he had a bunch of the scouts at the Shrine game as well. Last night they flashed how many that I think there are 9 Shrine game vets on the Seahawks (including 5 from the 2025 game) roster and 5 on the Pats roster.
 
I've seen on X lists of players we've met with at the Shrine Bowl, so we do have a presence there.

What? Peters isn't golfing?
 
I watched a couple quarters of the Shrine Bowl last night. Two guys that popped for me were both Williamses. CJ, Stanford WR, and Wesley, Duke DE.

Nice routes and hands from CJ, and Wesley constantly in the opposing backfield.

Both look to be UDFA possibilities.

Green was terrible this year (46.3 PFF grade, overall), while Conerly looks like a future stud (second half of the season, he had one grade below 63, including a 76.9 grade against the Broncos impressive pass rush)

Others that popped for me were:

DL Darrell Jackson, FSU​

There may not have been a better player at the Shrine Bowl than Darrell Jackson. He was dominant on all three days during the 1-on-1s and consistently in the backfield during team drills. It’s unlikely that the Rams will draft a defensive lineman inside the top-100, but Jackson is a run-stopper and simply violent at the point of attack. If the Rams were to continue investing in the defensive line, adding another player from the Florida State pipeline wouldn’t be a bad idea.

WR Kaden Wetjen, Iowa​

Kaden Wetjen is going to need to be in the right offensive system for a team to take advantage of his skill set. He’s only 5’9, but he’s slippery in space. During team drills on Day 3, he was a consistent target for the quarterbacks. In a 15-play sample, he may have had five or six catches. The intriguing aspect of Wetjen’s game is his upside as a returner. The Rams need to place more focus on special teams. Wetjen had three punt return touchdowns last year and led the nation in punt return yards while playing in the Big Ten. He may be somewhat limited as a receiver because of his size. However, if an offensive coach can find ways to get Wetjen the ball in space, he’s electric. As a late Day 3 pick, Wetjen makes sense.

S Cole Wisniewski, Texas Tech​

The Rams have done well in the past when drafting safeties late on Day 3 and developing them. Cole Wisniewski would make a lot of sense as the next in line for that. Wisniewski was a former linebacker at North Dakota State and those instincts were very obvious in run fits and when he played close to the line of scrimmage. With Chris Shula, the Rams have used a third safety almost as a linebacker, especially in dime. That player has typically been Jaylen McCollough. Wisniewski’s size at 6’3 and 214 pounds makes him intriguing for that type of role.


Wetjen looked like he had 2 extra gears over every other player on the field, incredibly explosive for a little dude

Edge Malachi Lawrence from UCF I have mentioned a few weeks back in this thread looked good and would be a nice day 3 pick

That lone rep for Green did all of the heavy lifting for his Senior Bowl performance. The rest of his reps in the drills were poor. Take out that one play and the media would have loudly said he struggled.

I'm trying to read more analysis on Senior Bowl practices and there's not much consensus so far.
 
Reese is a not a full-time edge. He's an incredibly versatile linebacker that can do a lot of things, including blitz.
