Apologies if this has already been covered, but looking at those multiple side columns framed by glass, I keep picturing late afternoon, low-in-the-sky, blinding sunshine streaming in through and casting the most bizarre zebra shadows on the field. Not to mention the sunshine itself in the eyes of anyone facing West.

Has there been any talk about polarized glass or retractable shades?

That said, I absolutely love what they are doing here.

I really don't get some of our supposed "long time fans" and their disdain for tradition because the Washington Commies don't have any tradition
if this is the line of thinking today.

I understand.

I also understand that the world isn’t waiting on me and what I think. You can choose to lament the present and live in the past…or you can accept that things change beyond our control. The only thing you can control is how you respond. I refuse to let anybody or anything make me miserable.

I've never understood why Jerry didn't fix this since it hurts his team, I would think you would want to have every possible home filed benefit this window isn't that. So I hope ours doesn't do the same.

Seems that from the inside, the stands themselves would block the field from most of that exterior sun. While the concourse beneath/behind the stands gets the view and the sun.

The stadium construction industry long ago perfected the art of making sure the stadium doesn’t line up with sunrise and sunset, lengthwise, so that it’s less directly in the players’ eyes in either direction, though some glare is probably unavoidable. That’s why it’s so funny that Jerry fumbled it with that monster stadium, in regards to the sun they built it in the wrong orientation. But regardless of orientation Jerry’s just always on the lookout for another glory hole, as he says.

This is my one complaint about the new stadium, I would rather have an outdoor stadium on natural grass. Football should be played in the elements.

That said, I can appreciate how the city might benefit from an indoor stadium that can host concerts and events besides football games. And the design really looks good, reminiscent of RFK and fitting the city’s aesthetic. I look forward to taking the wife and kids to see it.

Nobody will ever build an open stadium again in this country, I bet. The insane amount of money getting spent, it can’t just be good for 8 home football games a year in the weather. Needs to be the home for every huge event in the area, and most importantly, the Super Bowl. Or nobody will pay for it to be built

And retractable roofs come with insane expenses and mechanical issues over time, not a super attractive look or option for most owners.

Football in the open elements will just slowly die to logistics, sadly.
