The Pigs discuss the Commanders new QBs coach, the David Blough OC hire, pontificate on DC candidates, and pick our favorites in the Divisional Playoffs.

Good to chop it up with the fellas!

And don't worry everyone. Even though they disagreed some - John and Bob are still in love!

I think where I differ from you guys is just struggling more to believe and ‘have faith’ in the new regime. I was very adamant during the season that the mass injuries were having a huge impact on our ability to compete. I still think that was the biggest factor in a 5 win season. But for me, the blush is a little off the Dan Quinn rose… and I also think Peters (so far) has just been ‘okay’.

My mind and attitude can easily be changed and obviously I hope this year was just an ugly anomaly. But right now, I’m just not chugging any Koolaid.

With Blough getting the job, itis so much unknown I can't form an opinion one way or the other.
I can't remember who stated it and paraphrasing "no matter what it's his first year being an OC."
Does that mean we tepper expectations or should expect some growing pains, maybe, maybe not.
I still think Quinn is the guy for "now" do I expect a Harbaugh or Tomlin like tenure, not really
but it doesn't mean it's not possible. Baltimore has probably the best front office in the league and
Tomlin rode Ben until the wheels fell off but also had support it appears from ownership that
couldn't be broken. Not having that stress goes along way in a leaders approach
(of course never having a losing season helps with the owners confidence).

Who to root for? I'm with the consensus, F Chicago but also F NE, their fans here are as obnoxious as Philly fans just not violent.
I'm with Bob, I cannot root for Seattle I find all things Seattle obnoxious even my friends who moved there because now
they are Seattlefied. Denver, I'm luke warm, I wouldn't care either way but Payton is a genius, I think the whole league thought
eating that money on Wilson would nuke them for years, but I'm rooting for the Bills here. So for who I want to see win.
Rams over Chicago, 9'ers over Seattle..Bills over Bronco's and Tex over NE.

I don't think the talent on this team is that high and going up and down the rosters you can make a case Washington has the least under 30 talent among teams in the NFC East.

I like Blough specifically because he is going to put in the 65-70 hours a week to work with Quinn and Peters to make the offense better.

Part of the 'like' as well is the fact he has a working knowledge of the players already on the roster and has seen them on a day to day basis. In that respect he doesn't have to come in and learn that side of the ball over the next 6 months.

This team is a situation where a lot of heavy lifting needs to be done and a 50 plus year old coordinator retread that comes here from somewhere else is probably not going to be as hungry and energetic with this opportunity.

I say this with the strong opinion that the best veteran guys like McDaniel and Flores who still seem to have the fire were not going to come to Washington to be our OC or DC.
