Revisiting my take on Coleman from a few days ago, I am really hoping he can start the rest of the year at LT and put up some nice games against the Eagles and Cowboys to build his trade value.
While having a guy like him as the swing tackle is great, it is an inefficient use of assets and, if he shines these next few games, he could potentially become our most valuable trade chip (of guys we might be willing to trade).
Ultimately, despite having guard dimensions, I don't think he is a guard and his college performance showed that (I believe he graded worse as a guard at TCU than when he played tackle).
If he were an unrestricted free agent, if he were to shine these remaining three games, I could see him getting at least the $15M AAV contract Jaylon Moore got from the Chiefs, especially when you also use his tape from last year. For a cap strapped team like the Browns that desperately needs a LT after failing with Cam Robinson, Lucas and others, are they potentially willing to give up a 3rd or swap their 2nd for our 3rd for a starting caliber tackle with 2 years left on a rookie deal while they work through the remaining pain of the Watson contract?
