Give it a few weeks and most of the fanbase will eat it up.

Now, if Blough were to get off to a slow start, he would have less of a leash with the fanbase than with a more proven option such as McDaniel or Stefanski

McVay did it under an offensive HC who didn’t give him playcalling right away.
 
90% of my rooting interest is for Mcdaniel. 5% for any D coordinator except R. Morris. And 5% for the Giants to get screwed in this hiring process.

Agree, I listened to his show today too and although he has felt Blough was maybe in serious consideration that was before McDaniel came available.
 
How quickly McDonald will take to make a decision is a huge if. If Detroit is ready to make an offer to Blough, will they feel pressured to match it now?

So, I think you have to view them all as a rental. I mean, none of them want to be just a Coordinator.

I thought that was a great point you made on the podcast last night, but I think you are overstating it a bit. First of all, in a post-season like this one, with an insane number of head coaching vacancies, there may be a higher risk of the 'hot OC' getting poached. But it's not like there aren't OCs who are with teams for more than 1 or 2 seasons.

Your overall point is a good one though.

Don't you think they're going to want to talk to playoff team guys and some of the teams that go a few weeks if they keep winning? On Finlay's Beltway Football, he said this is going to take a while cause of all the league rules.

Good point, Higskin. I didn't think about that but with the Senior Bowl coming up I'd think they'd want their OC and DC in place. It's possible though.
 
People looking for something quick to happen for anyone must remember the expanded Rooney rule.

NFL teams are now required to interview at least two minority candidates for vacant head coach, GM and coordinator positions. One minority candidate is required for the QB coach position
 
Thought this was interesting. Not a big name source but looked up to see if it was true and it was.
