And Daboll’s name has been floating around. He is a verified QB killer as well unless the QB is an Adonis.
Interestingly, he actually had Josh Allen with a high pass to run ratio while he had him. Much higher than Jayden’s.

Now why on earth would they do that? I would think you would hire an OC and let him decide if any of the position coaches are guys he wants to keep?

That just seems odd. I guess ultimately, if he was a goner with a new OC anyway, they may be doing him a favor... but still seems odd.
It’s also possible the move was based on performance and/or feedback from our vet olinemen (who’ve been around a lot of different oline coaches).

Somebody in this thread I think mentioned they may have let Bobby Johnson go because they may be leaning towards a more Shanahan style offense and therefore want more of a zone blocking O-Line coach.

Its tough to be a fan in these situations because we are really vested in the team and are information is far from perfect.

Good point, I was just focused on the Dart experience.

I just read they are interviewing Mike McCarthy

The Dart experience is likely because Dart is raw as hell as a passer and took off running a lot. And will run into anything within striking distance.

I don’t want Daboll for other reasons: his offenses can be top notch but also bottom of the barrel and if people didn’t like Kliff’s consistency they’ll hate his.

But not because I think he’d be bad for Jayden. To that end, I wouldn’t mind Daboll because I think he can help Jayden evolve as a passer and take his game to another level.

Funny how Daboll was labeled a QB guru then to see what occurred with Dimes

If they wanted an offense that ran the ball more then why did they hire KK in the first place? To me KK is a gimmick, a run and shoot situation, and his offense is not sustainable. So I'm OK with the moves on both coordinators, obviously orchestrated by Harris and Company.

Why in the world would you throw in that completely unsubstantiated last part about ownership (and so confidently), and why in the world would you be happy about that. This wasn’t ownership, and that’s good, no matter how it turns out.

Daniel Jones can be included in the calculus.
Eh... Can he? I realize he is thriving outside of the Giants... but maybe that means he was well coached with the Giants and other factors were at play.

One thing is for certain... Daboll IS an unknown. But an experienced one and we could do worse... but also better.

I was referencing QB running and injury history. Dart & Jones vs Allen.

Yeah people forget that the Giants were stuck with Daniel Jones for so long originally because he was looking like a bust and then they hired Daboll to fix him. Then he had one good year and they signed him to the big contract extension. Then things went downhill and he eventually popped again for the Colts. QB development is not linear but that’s still a very confusing situation, we probably have to conclude that Daboll was able to hide his flaws more that first year and then he didn’t develop further until years later, after some time on the bench? Hard to draw conclusions on that one, but Daboll in year 1 got that dude paid

This is all just so weird. I am always insulted when it is announced as a "mutual agreement". No way KK agreed to this, we have not heard a word from him since so this was a firing plain and simple. Next we have a fired coordinator who is mentioned as a hot head coaching candidate. Just when has a fired coordinator been a hot head coaching candidate and can we find any examples of a fired coordinator being offered a head coaching job for the following season?

Monken is currently getting HC interviews and refusing to fire him is why Harbaugh was canned. So that was easy. Also, “hot” head coaching candidate as opposed to a guy getting interviews is your spin. Not many describing him that way, although I guess he is technically third in the odds to coach for the Ravens (but that’s mostly based off an Allbright report that he already clarified to mean Ravens OC, not HC).

It was reported a week or two ago that Kliff was having friction with the FO/Quinn. To the point a lot of people started to expect they’d part ways, it became a narrative.

They “fired” Whitt and had no problem saying it. Doesn’t really make sense that they’d pretend to mutually part ways with Kliff. Seems clear he didn’t want to be here anymore as much as Quinn wanted him to change.

They didn’t want to face fan heat and media criticism - which they are facing anyway.

That's OK, Lane Kiffin for the past 10 years has off and on become a 'hot' coaching candidate and the gypsy has gone from one organization to another, famously flaming out with the Raiders.

I am not afraid that KIngsbury is going to go to another club and become Bill Belichick leaving Cleveland and going on to Super Bowl glory.

His record speaks for itself in prior NFL OC and NFL HC experience. I don't he has that kind of success either but hey, it could happen. I didn't say it wouldn't. His best days were with CFB and may still be there. JMO. :) That is why I mentioned in another post, "retread of a new head". New head being another OC, one that hasn't had the opportunity to put together or call an offensive game plan for a season.

I liked Kliff and wanted another season.

Then I think back on those games where CRod would gash a defense for 7-12 yards multiple times in a drive and then we suddenly just stop running the ball for two quarters.

So in the end, I am really ambivalent about the decision.

Which is kind of laughable. We fans, who have never stepped foot in that building or in a meeting room, have absolutely no idea what happened in that building that led to KK's exit, and the media criticism is by people who don't even regularly cover this team. If Keim/Bram, etc., start talking about things being a bit fishy, I'll start to worry. Otherwise, I'll go ahead and ignore the online click/rage-bait garbage.

In the end, this whole situation is just a staff shakeup, which is going to happen after a miserable year.

That’s fine but not entirely accurate. Al Galdi has expressed a ton of concern over them moving on from KK and I think some concern is warranted. Sure - teams make staff changes but ditching both coordinators after just 2 seasons of a rebuild - does not represent success. It’s one coach shy of a complete purge.

Not a single team has contacted Kliff to schedule a HC interview, as of yet. I wonder why the delay.
