My biggest fear with AP is that he doesn't seem to be a very authoritative figure, he lacks a commanding presence in my opinion.

Watching that press conference the other day it was hard to tell who was the boss and who was the employee, Quinn displays much more confidence and command.
After 2 years on the job I had hoped he'd start displaying a little more confidence but he still comes off as a little shy and reserved.

Is that a deal breaker for a gm, not sure but I'd feel better if he did and much more confident that he'd be able to make the tough decisions when it comes down to it.

It's one of the reasons I'm not sure how much I like the bromance him and Quinn immediately developed, on one hand obviously you want cohesion but there needs to be a clear chain of command and that seems kind of blurry to me right now between him and Quinn.

By reputation, this is the opposite. Peters supposedly ruthless behind the scenes and VERY intense. Bram said he's been around a ton of people in his career but he's never seen anyone as intensly competitive as Peters. And that includes as a negotiator, I forgot what agent said but one was like during the negotiation with Terry saying something like this dude doesn't budge and is a bear to deal with.

Quinn by contrast is a super nice guy and easy going behind the scenes by reputation.

I thought he came off fine in that press conference. I don't want a GM overriding the HC in a joint press conference.

Also to me with Peters body language and the constant wide grins, if anything he comes off a bit cocky to me. And I thought he came off a bit cocky in his press conference before the season. I said before this press conference, i want to see a more toned down version of Peters where he comes off a bit beaten. I wanted to see some regret about this season and humility. Quinn leading up to it has shown it in his conferences. So on that front I liked a more muted Peters. If he started coming off defiant and plugging movies look at what I did, etc. it would turn me off.

I have a friend who used to work at Apollo. He said Harris was super intense.

When Harris was leaving Apollo, he had a huge public fight with Leon Black, his cofounder and boss. Harris was a college wrestler and that wrestler intensity comes through in what he has done in the business world

You can have a nice public persona and being uber intense behind the scenes. It's actually a good combination, it shows control. The people that can't help but be a bit overbearing with their personality publicly, shows less discipline and control. I work with public figures and have done so for decades.

Dudes like Harris and Peters who come off one way publicly (basically in control and in PR mode) and differently privately tend to be the best at the game so to speak.

The good news (maybe) is that it's clear the organization isn't accepting the excuse of injuries to stay the course. Really, they could have. They could have said, "2025 was a mirage. We've never seen injuries like this and it's not fair to judge our coaches and our team because we were so undermanned.) Next year, we'll be back.

Instead, Quinn and Peters decided injuries or no injuries what they saw was unacceptible on both sides of the ball. They fired both the OC and DC. That doesn't sound like a bromance and AP being weakwilled. People are underselling what this move says about them.

Quinn and Peters made that super clear in the press conference, too. I liked that, too. Because you can EASILY blame it on injuries. I personally think it was about 80% of the reason why the season fell apart. See the Chiefs without Mahomes? That bum Andy Reid shouuld just coach them up and figure it out!!!! But easier said then done. Chiefs look like the worst team in the NFL without their QB.

I do think this regime has made mistakes that go beyond the injuries and it good to see them lean in hard on that. Like or not like these coaching moves, they are giving early indications that this off season will bring dramatic changes.

I never heard much on him after being hired. Didn't AP had a hand in bringing him in from his NE days?

Yeah he seemed really quiet, I dont think he would be considered but I would love to hear him out in an interview.

If they finish 7-10 next year and the team decides to give him another year with his new coordinators you would consider that ineptitude?

Coming from me, who has defended Quinn from those here who want his head. I would fire him if he went 7-10 next season. Slam dunk I would.

Some here want to give him zero credit for their run last year and winning two playoff games. I give him credit for it. I also give Peters credit for it. They were a part of that success and their part was well documented.

I get people are hurt and Dan Snyder style want heads to roll. And they'd feel good about it.

But I think its ridiculous. they had the best run in 30 years for one season and then the next season they lead the league in injuries and you fire him? It's crazy IMO. Like I said look at what happens to almost every team when they get ravaged by injuries. The "genius" Andy Reid looks like Jim Zorn without Mahomes.

You are going to fall apart when you lead the league in injuries, sorry its just a fact, doesn't matter how much it pisses people off that he can't figure how to win with Mariota throwing the ball to Chris Moore. SF is the outlier exception but as to them, they still had some of their top players ala McCaffrey. The previous season without McCaffrey they fell apart.

Having said that, here's why IMO Quinn doesn't get a pass if there is round 2 of this

A. If we are giving Quinn credit for the 2024 season, we don't just pretend that it wasn't the real team either. If that's the case then it dilutes that success too. So the idea that the team isn't really good so give them time to me weakens the narrative of 2024 which is Quinn's calling card

B. If you got a franchise QB you should be in the playoffs almost every year. They get a pass this year because Jayden missed time

C. Quinn's defense has sucked. That's supposed to be his calling card. He hired his buddy to run it and he sucked. Now fix it. Giving him a pass for two seasons is giving him a lot of rope. If he fails in three seasons, that's too much IMO

Thinking the Harbaugh firing changes everything, not because he would come to Washington, but it changes all the variables (domino effect) everywhere. Its probably pushing folks time tables back until Harbaugh makes a decision.

I'm expecting to hear some rumors of coordinators today or some planned interviews. Other teams already have set interviews or requests for interviews with candidates. Some might hope for HC jobs and be reluctant but it seems you would want them to be aware of your interest.

IMO they should win at least 10 games. This isn't a typical rebuild with journeymen QBs. You got a franchise QB, the defense sucked in 2024, too. If Jayden is healthy they should be right back in the playoffs.

If all they do is sign one marquee WR and sign or draft an impact edge, they should be back. And I expect a lot more of course than just two main acquistions.

Keep a close eye on Todd Monkton down there in Bmore… he will be out imho and rumor has it that’s why Harbs got canned cause he wouldn’t move on from him… he did wonders for Lamar (and even though JD isn’t Lamar) I think he could do really good with him and this offense

And as for the DC… give me Jonathan Gannon recently fired HC of the Cards… the dude was really good in Philly for 2 seasons before getting the nod in Arizona and he’s young too…. So my wish list is:

Don't know about Gannon, his defenses in Arizona were bad.

Maybe. But even when we were lauding the coaching staff Quinn put together in 2024, Bob Johnson was the one name we all questioned as his work with the Giants seemed subpar. OTOH, it could suggest they've already had some whisper talks with a candidate who mentioned a few names they want to bring along with them. 🤷

Yes, and it could be they are trying to get Dwayne Ledford from Atlanta here to replace Bobby Johnson along with many other teams vying for her services.

Udinksi is probably the most intriguing one of that bunch. He didn’t work for McVay directly, but he worked his way up under Kevin O’Connell In Minnesota, who of course worked under McVay before getting the Vikings job. Udinski is now the offensive coordinator for the Jaguars, but isn’t calling plays because of head coach Liam Coen, another Sean McVay disciple. He’s seen as an up and comer and has been often referred to as the next McVay. The chance to call plays for Jayden Daniels might just be enough for him to jump ship and take his next step forward towards earning a head coaching job, but that inexperience would also represent a significant risk for Dan Quinn.

Not to the same degree but others are reporting the same thing about David Blough.

Udinski with much more hype and was much higher on the food chain as to running the offense, Blough's been assistant QB coach. Udinski offensive coordinator but the HC called the plays.

The more I read about him, the more I think its not happening, Jax could block the hire.

As soon as they fired Kliff, I accepted Blough would be gone, he likely goes to wherever Kliff goes.
