Coaches to keep an eye on:
1. McDaniels. Though they are 1-3, they haven't looked good. He will get an OC job in 7 seconds if fired, and maybe another HC job.
2. Dabol. If they had lost badly to the Chargers, and their season was over in September, he would not have lasted October.
3. Brian Callahan (Titans). He's only in his second year, but they went 3-14 last year and 0-4 this year, and that's a bit yikes.

The other terrible teams all have first year coaches. Could one of them be one and done? Yeah. But unlikely.
 
Callahan is as good as gone. If he's not, then that first-year GM will find himself out of a job sooner than he expected.
 
At the moment, I can see only 2 openings which really look likely:

1. Tennessee: The Brian Callahan experiment is going to end.
2. Miami: Mike McDaniels probably doesn't survive this season. They are bad. And probably shouldn't be as bad as they are.

Other possibilities:
- Giants: Dart and Skattebo seem like they are going to save Dabol's job. Which, good for them, and I'm not terribly disappointed about that. Dabol is probably a better coach than some give him credit for, but he's not great.
- Bengals: Zac Taylor is a somewhat better Jay Gruden. He's living off of the one SB appearance, otherwise, his teams have grossly underperformed.
- NY Jets: Do they go one and done with Aaron Glenn? Or do they realize they put him in an impossible position because Fields is horrible?
- Browns: Kevin Stefanski. I personally feel bad for the guy. He's been the coach since 2020 and had to deal with the Watson situation which has also killed their cap. He is counting $35m against hte cap this year, adn is going to count, get this, $80m against the cap next year. And then in 3 void years, $25m, $16m and $8m through the 2029 season. And they can't cut him. If they cut him for the 2026 season, it would be a $131m cap hit. I don't know how they are going to get out of that one, but next year's cap situation for them is going to be BRUTAL.
- Cardinals: "Ride the bus" guy isn't having a great season. Will they make a change? Maybe. If the season unravels, it's possible.

Other notables:
- The Ravens are 1-4, but John Harbaugh is as safe as any coach in the league not named Any Reid.
- Stealers: IF they blow it and don't win the division, MAYBE they decide to move on from Tomlin? That's unlikely because odds are they will win the division and Tomlin is a good coach. They are 4-1, Burrow and Lamar are out, and Cleveland isn't good. They should win the division by default.
- Houston Texans: They haven't looked great. They are just wonky. The question is whether they believe C.J. Stroud is being held back.
- Saints: They're bad, but everybody knew they were going to be bad, and they have a first year HC. Probably no change there. This is the job Kliff was essentially offered and turned down and he looks smart for doing that.
 
The Browns would be moronic to fire Stefanski. They should keep him until the Watson payout is over at least and see how he does without a deck stacked against him. The owner made that trade. He should fire himself.

If Daniel Jones keeps up looking like a pro bowler he might be the biggest reason, besides them sucking for years, for Daboll to get shitcanned. I hope they keep him around though. We've done better vs the Giants sine he was hired but all of those wins have been under Quinn with Daniels so probably has more to do with the new regime.

McDaniel is done. He's always seemed to me to be one of those guys who should only be an OC. I'm surprised he's won as much as he has with a permaconcussed Tua. Hopefully he can replace KK if he ever accepts another HC position.

The Jets are going to suck, they could hire anybody. It's going to take them a while more to finally get back to the playoffs.

A lot of Ravens fans have been on Harbaugh for several years. They probably should replace him but probably won't.
 




I wonder if his dad is going to be the interim coach. They haven't named and interim yet. If he doesn't get the interim gig, I wonder if Pops stays around as OL coach, or just quits...

Anyway, that job is open for anybody who wants to coach a small, somewhat irrelevant team.
 
Theres been some changes here as some teams are turning it around for the positive and others have begun to tank.

Can Raheem Morris, Stefanski and Gannon possibly keep their jobs...they are going to need some W's to save themselves

And what's up in Vegas with Pete...Seems he is finding things much tougher than expected.

There are a couple decent teams that could have grown tired of their current couch as well...How about Tomlin or Sirianni

Are Glenn and McDaniels doing enough to save themselves
 
For our perspective, I am pulling for Gannon and Morris' staff to get let go. I think Gannon and Ulbricht would do well for this defense. I don't think Glenn or McDaniels are going anywhere this year.
 
I bet Pete Carroll wishes he stayed retired. If Vegas a normal team they would have him on the choking block. He lost that team but will be back in 2026 after he signed that contract.

I say Stefanski and Gannon cannot hang on to their jobs

It will be interesting to see if the Giants give Kafka a shot. He needs to get Dart sliding for sure

is not HC material, Falcons are figuring that out. (They call him "Coach Rah" on the radio here). Most callers want him gone, have wanted Kirk gone since before the 2024 season, then he lied and made it worse, they're nervous about Penix...it's all gone to hell here in the ATL and I couldn't be happier. :amen:
 
I guess that Dan Campbell should be fired or on the hot seat, huh? 🤪
 
Both Raheem Morris and Terry Fontenot were let go by the Falcons. Interesting to see which GM and HC winds up in ATL.

Stefanski out in Cleveland.
Looks like we'll have plenty of options for a solid defensive coordinator.
 
Ross and Haslam are football dumb. The latter meddles too much, so it's hard to judge Stefanski. He might fit well in ATL. There needs to be more clarity on the hierarchy in Tennessee.

I feel bad for Carroll. Great coach, bad situation.
