Official Game Thread - Week 18 - Commanders @ Eagles

Exactly how I feel right now. Peak Redskins to pull out this utterly worthless game to our long term detriment.

Enjoy that moral victory though, DQ!
but what should DQ do? purposely coach to lose? it's nick's damn fault for not playing at least some of his starters, besides Jordan Addison, and take their seeding opportunity seriously. your anger is misdirected. be angry at him for the season, not losing out on draft picks this game. why not be mad he didn't throw the entire season 9 weeks in?

Here's the thing. You can't actually ask players to play to fire themselves or their teammates. Players are going to try. I feel good for them. I like knocking the Eagles a peg (which is what Quinn promised to do after Siriani tried for that two)... I'd rather have chosen five than seven, but what can you do?

Nobody expected them to try to lose, obviously that isn’t going to happen. They lost 12 games this season, the reaction is more “of course they won a game when it’s inconvenient, barely, against backups because our division rivals are so arrogant”. Perfect storm of annoying outcomes all around. I hope they had a lot of fun

In a zoomed out, macro sample, yes. We’re not dealing with the entire pool players ever in a hypothetical scenario though, we’re dealing with the specific class of 2026. There will be a hard tier break and we might end up on the wrong side of it, given it’s a weak QB/OT class.

Yes, historically the hit rates between 5 and 7 probably aren’t that different. But year to year when you want specific prospects like many posters here do, there can be a big difference.

It’s more so sickening to see the change in strategy, that we’ve said all season is conducive to winning, that we now only see implemented towards the end of a lost season, because Quinn has some ego wrapped up in beating the Eagles backups. It’s pretty pathetic to see how they committed to the run today to reach their objective in week 18.
They wasted 200 points on the draft board by winning this game. Which is equal to a 3rd round pick. No excuse for it. Now Quinn will tell us all how important the win was for the franchise. When in fact it was damaging.

Maybe Sinnott can commit 2 false starts in the SB next year 👺
Hey didn't they complete 100% of the passes they threw to him. I know it was only 2 catches for 3 yards, but he did give us room near the goal line to make plays

Yeah I guess if I had my heart set on a particular draft pick likely to be taken at 5 or 6 then I would be upset too, but I’ve seen enough of these high picks bust that I just don’t have that level of expectation anymore. Hopefully we will still pick somebody good.

I agree about the game plan being better this week, which is somewhat puzzling. I really thought we would see more of this style offense all season based on the preseason and personnel. So I get the complaints about KK’s play calling.

Anyway I’m going to try to enjoy the win, we haven’t had many this year, and it’s a long time before the next game.

According to my unofficial accounting…Bobby Wagner needed 5 tackles today to reach 2,000 for his career.

Bobby Wagner had 5 tackles today.

Good stuff. I think Von Miller’s sack also moved him up the all-time leader board too.

This entire season was like falling down in the mud, in the rain, in the cold.

This game was like having all that happen and then being kicked. In the head. With an iron boot. Know what that feels like?

like walking during a cold, rainy day and falling into the mud and then kicked in the head with an iron boot?

It’s weird to me that this win is the thing that made so many of you as miserable as I’ve been all year because of all the losing.

Later losses are always worse than earlier losses, because the weight of the season sits atop them. And to the people mad at the W, this is that sort of loss.

Maybe I’m wrong but I thought the latest results we are picking 6th
