The 2026 Draft Thread - 1st Round - 7th overall

Miami is playing smart. Playing away from Downs and embarrassing Styles. Styles is off my 1st round list.

Gonna edit this and add that is the problem when a Safety is your best player on the defense. They are so far away from the LOS that you can completely take them out of the game. I love Downs. Not sure a any safety is worth a top ten pick though.

Bain is going the fuck off man!!!

Love to see big time players show up in big time games. Bain had a sack. Then added a quick burst to the QB to force a pick 6. He is gaming the F out right now.

Miami is working OSU like a rib right now man.

First time I’ve watched Bain play. He is quicker than I imagined from the discussion about him here.

His get off is out of this world. The discussion here relied on the fact that he isn’t a dominant pass rusher on every play. It has not been about how much of a well rounded player he is. He is the best overall edge in this class including run stopping, even if he’s not the best pure pass rusher.

I think he is exactly what we need.

Bain is growing on me. Almost stripped the ball out from Sayin and has been pressuring him a ton.
Always hard to tell if pressures is a real stat or not. A pressure is a sack that got blue-balled. But watching Bain, so far tonight, the pressures have been VERY real.
Let's get two horses tied to his arms pulling in opposite directions to get his arms to 32" and then draft him (if Tate/Tyson are gone).

How I see it...

Top 25 WR’s

Carnell Tate Ohio State
Jordyn Tyson Arizona State
Denzel Boston Washington
Zachariah Branch Georgia
Mekai Lemon USC
Kevin Concepcion Texas A&M
Chris Brazzell Tennessee
Eric McAlister TCU
Germie Bernard Alabama
Chris Bell Louisville
Ja’Kobi Lane USC
Elijah Sarratt Indiana
Malachi Fields Notre Dame
Antonio Williams Clemson
Ian Strong Rutgers
Harrison Wallace III Ole Miss
Bryce Lance North Dakota State
Josh Cameron Baylor
Duce Robinson FSU
Omar Cooper Jr. Indiana
Ted Hurst Georgia State
Caleb Douglas Texas Tech
Skyler Bell UConn
Cyrus Allen Cincinnatti
CJ Daniels Miami

To name a few of the more talented guys.....

Hutchinson’s arms are 32"
Kayvon Thibodeaux’s arms are 33"
Jared Allen’s arms were 32"
Freeney’s arms were 32"

Nice forced fumble by Downs. Great players showing why they are so high in the draft in this game.

Downs is worth a top 10 pick I think, I just wish our cupboard wasn't so damn bare and empty all over the place, so we could afford to take him without leaving holes elsewhere.

Draft Downs and he becomes the green dot after Bobby??? Seems to have the intelligence and feel to do it. Plus it amplifies his value if he’s good at it.

He is. But is there any safety worth a top ten pick? That is the question. Dont think I would be against it at all. He would add some nastiness that this defense really needs.
I’m all for taking the best player. Period. Bain and Downs should both be in play if on the board for us. And Love. Honestly they might be the best three available. Long process to play out, still, though.

Well we can't draft Jeremiah Smith now, no way he gets away with that little push off if we draft him, that's a flag 178% of the time if a Commander does that, I checked, it's in the rules, scribbled in pen (in what appears to be John Mara's handwriting).

I am not even sure Tate is the best WR our team. Tyson to me is by far the best WR in this draft.
