The Jayden Daniels Tracker

The Patriots went 4-13 in 2024.

Jayden Daniels won rookie of the year and went to the conference championship game.

If the Patriots were smart, they would have cut Maye after he busted so bad. A career is decided by a single season and by popular demand his career should have been over.

Jayden Daniels played 7 games this year and got hurt in 4 of those.

Drake Maye is probably going to win the MVP this year after Stafford’s spectacularly bad performance on MNF.

Maybe we picked the wrong guy.
Maye looks great right now, but let's see how he does in the playoffs. Someone I know that watches a lot of ACC football told me before the draft that the issue with Maye was that he played his worst in the biggest moments against the tougher competition. I don't know if that's true, but we will find out soon enough when he gets to the playoffs. The one thing about Daniels last year is that he was cool and calm in the biggest moments. Whether Maye steps up or not, it doesn't matter at this point. Both guys have had one great year and one less than stellar season. We will see where their careers go from here as both guys are in year two of what fans hope to be long careers .

In any case, this is a big off-season for Jayden and the organization. The questions and concerns will remain until they silence them.

I’m willing to reserve judgement until we have a larger sample size. One great season and one injury-riddled season isn’t enough. What I do want to see is changes in approach.

Judging by the response I’m getting here, most of us don’t have any questions or concerns. I don’t find it so easy to ignore a 4-12 record, but hopefully my worries are unwarranted and those who remain optimistic know better. I will be more than happy to eat these words should Jayden and company silence the critics next year. I do agree we should give them time and time will tell.

Yeah, Daniels and the offense need to get to work in the offseason. I trust that they will.

Jayden to play flag football in Saudi Arabia. Brady is low key disrespectful asf... Lol

Absolutely shocked their NFL contracts allow this if I’m being honest.

And I won’t get political here but there’s way better reasons not to do this than injury risk.

The main reason anyone does it is because of the major $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$. I wonder if that will become public knowledge at some point (the payout for JD).

Yeah f that noise. Let’s get a healthy year in before we take on offseason stuff like this.

I hate this idea of Daniels playing in flag football...

I can't imagine that the Commanders wouldn't have language in his contract that would keep something like this from taking place. We all know injuries happen, but there is no reason to allow something like this to happen. Failure to shut this down will put a huge black mark on the front office for me.

Clearly that language doesn’t exist in NFL rookie contracts, or he wouldn’t be participating. If they try to step in now and try to prevent him from earning this extra money, it’s going to make them look much worse (even though it’s a black mark on his character to take this dirty money in the first place, but again, not the forum for that conversation). A lot of NFL skill guys are participating in this, which sucks a lot of ass. But clearly the teams can’t stop it, or they would have already shut it down. It isn’t a specific black mark against our FO that this is going to happen, it’s the league.

I dunno, man.

Guys do all sorts of stuff in the offseason, likely much riskier than a flag football game. If he can’t get through an offseason flag football game without injury, we need to make other plans.

I’m more worried about stunting his growth as a player by hiring an OC with no experience and pairing him with Doug Williams son as QB coach.

Maybe Blough will go with him as HC. I saw something posted here about his prior interest in coaching Olympic flag football.

Jayden playing flag football shouldn't come as a surprise. He's shown in advertisements for flag football roughly 4 times per game.

The league has players with undeniably documented cases of assault continuing their careers with little more than a speed bump in their way. It disgusts me, but the NFL looking with approval on players like Tyreek and and Kareem Hunt makes me doubt that the NFL could care any less about players keeping their own hands clean while making bank in another country.

Good points Conn. I guess I'm just irritated by the fact that our star QB who couldn't make it through the entire season this year without spending a significant time on the injured list is now going to go play in this event. I understand that there are always players that do things like this during the off season, but how many of those players spent a majority of the prior year injured.
