the Redskins are out of the playoffs and a win would further hurt their draft position in the top 10-12 picks, but there is something about a division game against a rival that has beaten you 31-7 and 45-12 in the last 2 contests that makes it imperative to go into the offseason with that monkey off your collective back.

the Redskins lost to the Eagles 59-28 but beat them in Philly 17-12. Not quite even, but enough to give them a sting.

but the Giants?

this team has used the Redskins as toilet paper for the last 3 years and no matter who the coach or defensive coordinator is, Washington has never managed to come up with its best or most motivated performances when playing the blue and white.

The Redskins haven't fared well in defending their home turf in 2010, a team that finishes 4-4 on the road usually does better than 6-10 overall.

But in a topsy-turvy season with a lot of surprises, most of them unpleasant, one that would be nice to go out on is a win against Coughlin and eliminate the Giants from the postseason.

There is something about the Giants vs. Redskins in that whenever the Redskins have done well they have swept the Giants. A win now would be nice and might portend good things for the future.

And yes, I'm tired of seeing the Giants beat up on the Redskins as they have done for the last 3 years.

We don't need to play for draft position. I want to see us beat the Giants.

Sorry to be the bummer, but the Gints are playing for their playoffs lives. We on the other hand are waiting to start our climb to the danny bowl

You're not sorry! :insane:

You did it on purpose!

The Redskins will win on Sunday. Care to wager? If the Redskins win, you have to wear an "I Love Obama!" Signature for a month. If they lose, I have to wear an, "I love Obama!" Sig! Ugh! that made me throw up in my mouth a little!

Giants were playing for their playoff lives last week against GB and decided to no show that game. This is a very winnable game for us. I think they are still reeling from the Eagles comeback. That was a season defining loss for them, and it could end up being a franchise defining loss, at least for the next couple of years.

Assuming they don't make the playoffs, I don't see Coughlin coming back, and I think it's possible they cut ties with a lot more than just him. That was a devastating loss.

So either way, you both lose?

:)

El....you always find a way to redeem yourself!!!....lmao!!!!

to be honest....at this point.....I'd prefer a win also. outside of the top 6 or 7 spots I don't have much faith in this team's personnel dept unless they luck into selections that don't require much thinking/analysis (see Orakpo). so 13 to 19 makes no real difference.

I see you have finally come to your senses! :grouphug:

You know EL, I've never bet agaisnt the Skins before, but you're on.

Besides, after last weeks win it made me think of something. Perhaps draft position isn't as important as dropping in the draft and being out of the running for Luck or a top 5 pick. If they win they drop even further, thus eliminating the urge to pack Butterworth, McNabb and our next 20 number one picks for a college QB. Maybe then they can concentrate on teh lines

See, silver lining and all:)

I just wonder if the Giants' collective will was sapped in that horrible fourth quarter loss to the Eagles? :)

NY didn't really come out and give Green Bay a competitive game last week in losing 45-17.

Even in this, a down year, it would be nice to see the 'Skins go 3-3 in the division. A win against the seemingly hapless Giants would be a great way to end the season and provide some respectability and hope to an otherwise disappointing year.

We need to extract some sort of good vibe form this game after the total bi*** slapping they gave us earlier this year. I too am tired of being the "smelly brown stuff" on the bottom of the Giants shoes.

Yeah, except I would consider the Giants anything but hapless.....

Sure, they seemed to take their collective foot of the gas against the iggles and it cost them. In Green Bay against that defense & with Rodgers playing was nothing easy and they wilted under the lights but rest assured, they will look nothing like that tomorrow.

I fully expect them to try and steamroll an inferior opponant and make a statement on which to hang their postseason hopes.

I would be thrilled with a W but more realistically, I'm just hoping for a good showing by the Skins.

Even though I took the bet, as a fellow SKins fan and general all around good guy, I'll release you from it El. Mainly because I wouldn't make my dog wear an "I love Obama" sign.

Almost pulled it off. Hell, if we had a placekicker, who know what would have happened?

it's more than the kicker. Hall made a stupid play on the ball that went for 7.

I am a man of my word. I will wear it for a week like I said if they lost. :puke:

fs62 is right, it wasn't just the kicker. Hall went for the highlight reel. It would have been a long reception, but Hall could have stayed with him enough that he wouldn't have gone for 6. Moss turned the ball over inside their 10 yard line in the 4th quarter. Oh and all those who say Trent Williams is gonna be a great one, you are probably right but he isn't just yet. Those strips of Grossman from his blind side were his fault last night. Grossman needs to be more aware in the pocket, but Williams had a tough time handling Umiyore last night.

Well, if you insist, at least use this. Kind of a "boobs wearing a boob" theme.

True, El. Williams is a talented rookie-but he is still a rookie, prone to the mistakes an inexperienced rookie will make. In time he will get better, I think quite a bit better based on his innate physical skills. One reason, I believe, his performance seems to have tailed off recently, related to something I've touched on before, is that opposing teams, by watching game tapes, can spot his tendencies-including those that lead to "rookie level" mistakes and adjust to take advantage of them. That wasn't available early in the season which is quite likely a big reason why he looked so good early on.

Another thing I do have to mention in his defense-Umenyiora is an elite talent and a handful for any LT to try to control-even experienced ones.
