The coaches I desired IN particular order were Ben Johnson, Dave Canales, Mike McDonald (the only DC candidate). And I thought Liam Cohen was a great choice last year for the Jags.

The pedigree was there for all those guys. I hate the Quinn hire. Like the guy though. But he’s not the right guy for this team… and we’re wasting Jayden’s rookie contract.

My hire for HC was McDonald, then Johnson. I didn't care for the Quinn hire as well but was hoping for the best. I don't think DQ makes it past 2026 going into 2027. I also am not crazy about the HC and GM connections that we've had that date back to after Beathard left Washington. I understand that DQ and AP had no working connections before DQ was hired and would like to see AP, when that time comes find whomever the best qualified HC.

Ross is football dumb and is likely to bungle the GM hire, again. Doubt he fires McDaniel, though. Jets? They'll surely give Glenn at least another year.

I just don’t know how you defy common convention and don’t hire an offensive head coach to go with your newly selected franchise QB… and pair him up with a defensive coach instead to complement him a good defense to take some pressure off the rookie… and then his defense proceeds to be among the league’s worst for 2 seasons straight… and let that go.

I know Quinn will be back. He’s definitely well-liked and supposedly has built a good culture.

The team surpassed expectations last year… and that has been him some run way.

But he was hired here for his defense. And he’s failed miserably.

And I’m not saying KK is a terrible coordinator… he’s competent. When he has a mobile QB.

I just expect better.

Others say, we can’t evaluate, too many injuries this year and last year was good.

I think there is info to support both positions at least somewhat. A better defense would help regardless, fewer injuries, but that is not the same as Kliff improving year to year. The team (with better D) and O (with fewer injuries and easier schedule) can look improved next year but it won’t mean Kliff changed or improved. It will be interesting to see, as it always is, what happens.

I will be patient regardless. Just glad Snyder is gone.

The Giants are supposedly very interested in him. No guarantee they sign him. But he is going to get interviews this offseason for sure imo.

Edit: And I think that is a really good fit for him as well. Dart, Nabers and Skattebo are nice young pieces for that offense. They have players on defense as well. A decent coaching staff there would dramatically improve that team imo.

I sincerely, sinceeeeery hope the Giants hire him, but even the geniuses who hired Joe Judge (who's still pretending to coach QBs down in Oxford) aren't that nuts. If they think Dart has been vulnerable up til now, just wait til Kliff shows up.

Scramble rushes don’t bother me as much as called ones. We need less called rushes and RPO for JD. He’s not good making that RPO read for some reason.

Again that statement assumes Kliff:
A) is a guy who would get us there with consistency and give us the best chance; this means he has some good adaptability at least
B) even last year, he was the main driver in getting us there

I think most of the people who have any Kliff concerns are crediting JD a lot more than those who have little or no concern for last year’s success.

To be clear, I don’t believe anyone reasonable is saying it is definitive from our vantage point. It should be a lot clearer for DQ if he is doing his job.

Look at Slowik. Playoffs y1, everyone super excited. Sophomore slump, Slowik is fired and that’s by his friend I think (both from Sf under Shanahan), Ryans.

If you are the HC, you should have your finger on the pulse.

If this Kliff led offense were complemented by Flores and the Vikings D (which is not particularly talented), this is a wild card team despite injuries to the offense. Too bad we didn’t get to see that this year and too bad we will likely never get to see Kliff here complemented with a similar caliber defensive mind

The talent deficit at the top of the roster is stark, especially on defense.

That’s how Ricky Barber comes in and looks as good or better than Kinlaw and Newton overall.

This team has starters or at least guys that are starting that would be depth players elsewhere.

The fact we paid good money for some in free agency or used higher picks on others it’s all the same game - not getting value.

We have two Hall of Famers on defense the problem is they are both way passed their primes.

Names instead of ‘game’.

We don’t have enough 23-24 year old middle round picks that are pushing to get on the field.

When you have that you know your organization is moving in the right direction.

Too many needs and not enough picks. That win against the Giants really hurt us big time.

Now, we either have to do something radical, or execute exceptionally well over many years to catch up to a roster like Philly has.

We also can't be sure of what the front office/ownership's reaction to this season will be given all the circumstances that has lead to the down year. I think Joe Whitt is the obvious one under the biggest radar, but do they view Quinn & Kliff more as victims as circumstances.

Well, I agree we need more picks if we can trade down and still get a premium player in Round 1.

We can also make within round trades and recoup later picks for clubs that each year always seem to want a specific player on Day 2 and 3.

But I would say from what I have seen so far Peter’s did a better job with fewer picks in 2025.

Conerly Jr. and Amos came in and contributed that first year while we saw in limited time that Jaylin Lane can be a dynamic returner and a wide receiver that can run professional routes and show good hands as a developing #3.

When you add in Merritt that beats what we got out of Newton, Sinnott and McCaffrey et al in Year 1 after 2024 draft.

In 1979 Beathard’s earliest pick was in Round 4 and yet he came away with two players in Don Warren and Monte Coleman who played 14 and 15 years with the team as starters.

The good ones get it done with what they are given.

With HC opening with the NY Giants, Tennessee Titans, you could probably add Cleveland, Miami, Cincinnati, and Las Vegas in and possibly Pittsburgh along with a slight possibility of Baltimore. The loser of the game next week between Baltimore and Pittsburgh may get their pink slip. There could be as many as 7 teams or more looking for new HCs after the season ends. I am guessing that KK will build up his frequent flyer miles soon.

Raiders had Kliff on the hook before we stole him away, because they skimped out on his deal (they only wanted to offer a 2 year deal which is so embarrassing given there’s no salary cap for coaches, and assistants almost always get at least 3 year deals, and whatever salary they offered was only going to offset his much bigger Cardinals HC salary so they just needed to not offend him)

Then Chip Kelly was horrible and fired. So they need a play caller again. Carroll is almost 80 years old. Maybe the Raiders will try to right a wrong and “steal” Kliff back in a larger role? I’d be okay with it (as long as we actually go through a real hiring process for an OC, rather than just handing it to someone who has been under Kliff for 2 years like Lynn, Johnson, etc. I do not want them to value “stability” for Daniels over hiring a real OC)
