I mean thats why they always make the trade. Doesnt excuse the fact that they were wrong though. A FA miss doesnt cost you draft picks...

Exactly. FA misses only cost $$ not picks Lattimore trade has been a debacle. I really dislike APs constant trading of picks for this team, very hard to build a team when you trade away most of your mid round picks. I didn’t like trading down in 24 or any of the player trades. I don’t think they should have make the Tunsil trade either. Yes he’s a better tackle than Coleman but I think we’d have been better off with our picks and Coleman vs Tunsil and losing picks. We need them for defensive players. The defense is the main reason we lost the NFC Championship game not LT or Oline really. Only silver lining is Tunsil is great but he’s another old player and will be expensive. To me APs roster construction has been the biggest issue for this team.

So, let me give it a go...lol. We need a complete overhaul of the roster (as we can agree on). QB: We know what we have here. We just need to figure out a QB3 and perhaps a PS/development QB. RB: CRod is a RFA, so it makes sense he'll be back. Bill is showing signs he could be the future. McNichols is a jack of all trades, master of none. But he fills his role nicely in this system. We need an ekeler type back to allow KK to use his formations effectively. Greece Hall makes sense here. TE: Ertz is done (which is not a knock as his season ending injury is not how I'd have wanted him to end his career). Nonetheless, we need a TE that can stretch the field and add YAC. Sinnott, though disappointing, has improved his blocking this season and deserves at least another season to develop. Bates is one of the best blocking TEs in the league. And Yankoff is a developmental TE who provides a special teams ace to the equation. I suspect likely or Pitts will be a target. More to come, but I hope for a more in depth discussion.

If I were a betting man, KK is not back here next year, which is a bummer. This will also mean we are also at the whim personnel wise of the next OC.

As set as we feel with the OL, guys who are not scheme flexible like Biadasz and Paul may be in some danger of not coming back. This would be a bummer for the latter if this were to happen

I think the thing about Deebo is that he's been fine when we wanted him to be great. Yesterday and maybe the first game of the season were the only ones where Deebo showed off his YAC abilities. Maybe we traded for him to be Robin to McLaurin's Batman, but with Batman, Green Lantern, and Aquaman out of action, we needed him to be Superman. As the only guy left (Ertz was there but not getting it done either), he was the guy on the field that we could vent our frustrations on.

Yup, change coordinators and you have a chance of needing to change up personnel. We may see a new DC that doesn't buy into DQ's scheme as well as losing Kliff. On a good note, may of our players are becoming FA's anyway.

Not really. Martin maybe. I would love to give Drake Jackson a shot but he does feel like a big health risk like Noah Brown

I feel like the number I'd be willing to keep a 30 year old Deebo at is a number lower than Deebo would like.

Also, if I had my way (I won't) I'd be drafting Tate or Tyson in round 1 to be our future #1, I'd be signing Doubs or Pierce to be a long term #2, I'd be signing Pitts (or someone else who comes free) to be a long term TE1, and I'd be signing Breece Hall.

Adding Deebo to that room is great bc of his versatility but there are also just not enough yards to go around. If Terry has 1 more good year in him, that's 1000 yards right there. 1st rounder should be getting at least 750-800. Doubs/Pierce another 750-800. Pitts another 800. Plus Breece should be at least 400-500. So that's basically 3700-3900 yards right there. Leaves very little left for anyone else unless Daniels is passing for 5,000 yards (which would be awesome but if he cracks 4000 I'm happy). Luke/Lane/Burks would be fighting over the remaining 500ish yards, which, like, fine, they haven't shown enough to be WR2 status anyway and they'll get one last chance in '27 as Terry steps back/declines/gets released, but in '26 all of them would be getting like 200 yards each tops in a 4500 yard Daniels year. Plus on the RB side of things, a room of CRod/Bill/Breece is already full.

So production wise, you're looking at a guy who maybe gets...600 combined yards, MAYBE, and probably not even. I'd throw like 7M AAV at him, but he probably won't take that, and probably SHOULDN'T take that, he can probably get more money elsewhere.

Regret? I dont know that you'd kick yourself.

The bigger question is are there any guys on this defense you think you can win with... and I say absolutely. The unfortunate thing is it's going to take a couple BIG hits at premium positions, but the Defense likely can get turned around quick.

1. Premium Edge pushes everyone else down the Depth Chart, benefiting all of them.
2. Healthy CB + scheme change. I actually don't think CB is the biggest 'need' as far as personnel... Of course this is predicated on Amos and what he can be come, but if you're talking talent within a unit, this one, on paper, is imho capable, and it's also been as heavily invested in as any unit when you talk about drafting players (Amos / Sainristil), trading for players (Lattimore), and signing players (Noah I, Jonathan Jones). I think the system has been more detrimental to the unit than the players have been.
3. Interior D-Line. Kinlaw seems to have moments, but i still think there's something missing (clearly). We HAVE to figure out the run defense. Doing that has the type of ripple effect that changes all aspects of the defense, front to back. Allowing teams to absolutely gash us pushes the problems out like a shockwave. I put Interior D-line here, but i also wonder if there is a schematic button we can push. Not sure what personnel outside of having multiple All Pro DT come in here that can just disrupt the entire interior line... and that's not exactly a realistic expectation. I love the idea of Darryl Tapp, but wonder if an upgrade can happen at that position, whether it be Tapp changing him process / philosophy, or you move on to another D-Line coach. Again, this is not saying it's all on the D-line, I just wonder if thats the place you can make the most impact with the least amount of changes.
