I expect Kinlaw and Martin get suspended by the league today.

In need of a Qb.

Watching 42 yr old Aaron Rodgers play with a cast on his fractured wrist on his non throwing arm while #5 sits out the season for soreness in his elbow on his non throwing arm is.......something.

42 year old Aaron Rodgers is smack in the middle of a division race and likely on the last playoff run of his career, so there is that.

Rodgers has sucked for three years and has basically the lowest ADOT measured in the past 15 years, he has some flashes of the old HOF Rodgers but he’s basically stewarding a very conservative Arthur Smith offense while having a Tomlin defense that finally started disguising coverages this year and is playing really well. He’s not good anymore and he’s not playing particularly well, he’s doing enough.

These may be the last meaningful games of Rodgers’ career and he hasn’t made the playoffs in half a decade so yeah, he’ll play through basically anything while they have the division lead.

Pretty much nonsensical to mention in relation to the Daniels situation, and makes me wonder if you wouldn’t be better off posting the rage bait on Twitter where you could at least earn a few shekels for the engagement

Well we have Driskel as backup up so they must be assuming Marcus can't go.

It also means they see no promise in Hartman as a QB.

Hey Conn, get bent...and I mean that in a Merry Christmas type fashion. :)

These players like to talk about "living and dying"..."bleeding and sweating" "going to war" and the "brotherhood".
Don't spew all that horse hockey if it ain't so.

If Rivers can drag his ass out of retirement and play in this dangerous league, I'd expect a 25 year old with soreness could handle playing.

I’m sorry you have such bad luck with thinking, but hey, it’s a charitable time of year. You do you.

One QB has something to play for, and the other doesn't.

You wouldn't have your starter play all 4 quarters of a preseason game. This is no different.

So much for developing talent.
You guys act like #5 has arrived and is a finished product.
He has a lot of work to do to become a franchise QB.

He's got his entire career ahead of him. I'm pretty sure his legacy isn't going to be determined by a handful of meaningless games. Besides - it isn't up to him - there is no doubt JD would be out there if it were. Organizational decision.

I dont think Legacy is the 'issue' here. It's development.

As far as the previous posts, I actually lean with DP that these are valuable reps that cannot be duplicated in practice. I don't think JD was the one to make the call... I would also assume that Quinn probably wanted to get him back out there to continue playing. I get that missing 2 games at the end of a lost season isn't going to make or break his career, but as I've always said, it's not about the results... it's about getting something that is unavailable anywhere else. It's first team reps in practice. It's game reps that create data points within himself as he's learning. I personally think playing would have a level of value, assuming there is no longer an injury issue / concern. If he's healthy, I would like to see him out there.

Rodgers has not “sucked for three years.” He barely played in 2023, but these are his numbers over the last two years: 633 completions on 996 attempts for 6757 yards, 51 touchdowns, and 18 interceptions. And last year he was in the top 10 in yards and touchdowns.

It is true he is not being asked to do as much this year, but he is doing a fine job “stewarding” his team to the playoffs, and he is still in the top 12 in touchdowns, completion percentage, touchdown percentage, and interception percentage. I understand he is no longer the guy who won MVP awards, but I wouldn’t say “he’s not good anymore.”

Only time will tell how Jayden’s career goes and what his legacy will be, but it is trending in the wrong direction this year. I hope he bounces back next year.

Fair, I overstated how mediocre he’s been. He’s like 30% of prime Rodgers which is pretty sad to watch but he looks better this year than last year with a decent roster supporting him.

I mostly was just laying out why an old guy on his last legs would be allowed to play through almost anything compared to a young guy on a 4-win team being shelved. Rodgers isn’t the franchise there, he’s the latest vet Tomlin has brought in to steer the ship, and it’s likely Rodgers’ last ride after a comparatively sad few years

He is a glorified game manager now though. He’s throwing close to the LOS more than anyone in recent years has, and it’ll be worse without DK the rest of the regular season. He’s not like late career Brady or something, which is hard to watch given he was top-5 for so long
