Official Game Thread - Week 16 - Eagles @ Commanders

Both, facing a pathetic opponent at the pinnacle of your sport is enraging. Makes you want to rub their face in it imo. The division aspect is more complex as well, we thought we were on the come up last season and I’m sure they’re glad to put us in our place. Our division rivals feast on that, they all see us as the little brother and even though the Giants have actually been worse over the last 10 years, they feel the same way. And we keep handing them reasons to feel that way, most years.
fair point, but I'd say it's less that they are "enraged" and more they don't wanna let us forget we're the little brother....not sure what I would call that emotion lol. even still. playing hard between the 20s is one thing. a 2 point conversion when the game is wrapped up and onside kicks are a virtual impossibility, is unnecessary.

This is the same nonsensical bullshit as recently where it’s not clear when Quinn does and doesn’t want to try to win. Conceded with the punt when there was 7:00 or so left down 3 scores, then score once it seems over and now putting the eagles through an onside kick down 11 points with 1:10 left on the clock to be able to say we tried? It’s garbage

Inconsistency, lack of ____________ (quite a few choice words I'd like to use for DQ there). What a leader, way to inspire the guys. Major coaching shortcomings.

Yeah once again the platitudes and fun quotes don't work when losing

Need to blow this team completely up, including the HC.

Any and all offers that result in additional draft picks need to be listened to.

We're about 8 starters away from ever competing with Philly.

If Marriota can’t play, I’d really prefer to see Sam Hartman against Dallas. Same result, but at least Sam would get to live out his dream to play in the NFL.

First time all season, I have really been frustrated by Dan Quinn. And it was because he punted with six and a half minutes left down 21-10 on like 4th and 6 from our own forty. I realized our chances at winning were a long shot, but to not even try and just concede defeat rubbed the wrong way. I can forgive leaving Jayden in against Seattle because he is trying to be competitive. Just giving up aggravated me a lot. Its been a disappointing year. I want to believe the team is still fighting for its fans. Apparently not (or at least not Quinn).

It's funny. I thought the team played its heart out and did us proud for 2 3/4s quarters. After Mariota went down, the team lost heart. Johnson could barely catch a snap.

So, I hear you and almost everyone else about the choice not to go for it on fourth, but other than that they did so much better than I thought they would. And honestly, if not for the refs gifting the Eagles over and over again with second chances on phantom calls and ignoring Eagles fouls... we had a real chance to win that game.

I did feel we got the short end of officiating tonight starting with the no call in endzone when we kicked the fg where DeJean was clearly holding our receiver (I think it was Treylon Burks) arm. That said I am more annoyed at Quinn for punting with six and a half minutes left than the officials. You cannot control the officials. Sometimes you'll get the short stick sometimes you'll be the beneficiary of offiiciating-you don't control that--but you do control whether you take your shots to win the game and we conceded defeat by punting.

Bears are down their top two young pass catchers (Odunze + Burden) and it’s okay because they still have reliable vet Moore + Zaccheus + their stud 21 year old TE + their backup replacement level TE Kmet + multiple explosive RB’s

Eagles did not look like a team that's going far in the offseason this year

Maybe not, but how bad are we then?

They have owned us for years, here are the results of our last 18 meetings for reference:

L 29-18
L 55-23 (NFC Championship)
W 36-33 (injured QB)
L 26-18
L 38-31
L 34-31
W 32-21
L 24-8
L 20-16
L 27-17
W 20-14
W 27-17
L 37-27
L 32-27
L 24-0
L 28-13
L 34-24
L 30-17

So that’s a 4-14 record with a point differential of -100.

But don’t mind my pessimism, I’m sure we’re just having an unlucky year.
