Dejean was definitely the higher pedigreed player as to draftnik consensus by a clear peg or two, heck if I recall PFF had him as a top 15 player in that draft.

To your point was it that Peters was good with trading down because he didn't agree with sort of the draftnik consensus? Maybe. But that's to me even more damning. I'd like to think that Peters wasn't thinking yeah Sainristilll is even better than Dejean, let those fools the Eagles take him. I'd like to think he did the more common reason people trade down, I'd rather have two players than one.

My guess is that Dejean had injury red flags coming out for these guys. I think he missed a bunch of games his final year in college. Kinda odd they would then focus in Johnny then

If draft day unfolds anything like this, I wouldn't want to trade outside of pick 11. And lol, if they do trade down, I expect them to lose the trade, its been a tradition here for about two decades. Doesn't matter the GM.

We are just assuming they didn't like Dejean. I think its more likely they dug Saintristill just as much or close enough and really really wanted another pick in the 2nd so they can take Sinnott.

Yeah going back to the Bailey trade, that's what really won the trade for them, the next years first. All the extra picks that same year they didn't really do much with if I recall.

Unless they are picking top 2, I'd be somewhat surprised if a team trades a haul to trade up in this draft.

Agreed. Teams do it for QBs and EDGEs. We need Ty Simpson to enthrall people during draft season and rise up boards

I don't even view him as a first rounder at this juncture but my view can change if I feel like really diving into things.

I think you will change that opinion. He does deserve to be considered inside the 15 for sure unless he really does have alligator arms

I would be very sad if we didn't grab Tyson if he was there. It's the "30 times bitten, 31st times shy" part of me feeling like this, but if that happened I'd fully expect Bain to just sorta be a JAG while Tyson becomes a pro-bowler.

Then again, the flip side could happen and Tyson's injuries could start acting up again and Bain could be the next Micah Parsons.

But personally, if I'm rolling those dice I'm rolling them on a WR, not an edge.

I’m just now thinking about the draft, so I’m sorry if this has been covered, but how are we feeling about Jeremiyah Love?

I know running backs are no longer valued like they once were, but I think a truly great one can be worth it. Look at Derrick Henry and Christian McCaffery’s careers, what Saquon Barkley did for Philly last year, what Jahmyr Gibbs brings to Detroit, etc.

Putting aside whether or not RB is the best play from a need-value perspective, could Love be in that elite tier? If so, I would at least consider it.
