I love reading mocks. though lol the trade down mocks are cool but feel unrealsitic too. But that mock would be killer, some have Parker in the first half of the first, getting him in the 2nd, and Young in the 5th would be killer. I am not as high as some are on Tyson but I still like him so trading down and still getting him would be a coup.
David Bailey, watched him more.
His superpowers are his get off and motor. Nice spin move. I don't always love his angles when O lineman try to redirect him, he can take too wide of an arc and take himself out of the play. Really violent active hands. Good bend. IMO his style of play-body type are more likely to succeed in today's NFL.
He's a handful to defend for multiple reasons among them is he's constantly in motion, zig and zag, left, right, etc -- versus running linear on every play.
Watched a couple of interviews of him, seems to be smart, good dude. If he has a good combine, it wouldn't surprise me if he ends up edge #1.
Romello Height, Texas Tech, Edge. Similar thought to what I said a week back about Mesidor getting lost in the sauce because of Bain. Height, same thing because of Bailey in Height's case.
Height to me is more of a Jacob Martin type pure pass rusher, great get off, violent hands, hands always moving so hard dude for an O lineman to lock into,
He's lanky. Not sure if he has the size to set the edge. His pass rush win rate is almost identical to Bailey. I like Bailey a little over him, especially has a run defender. Neither has the size to perhaps excel at run defending but I like how Bailey sheds tackles better. But neither look like big liabilities against the run.

1. What was your take on Bailey’s bag of pass rush moves?
2. Do you see him as a guy who can play 4-3 DE on at least early downs or do you think he is purely a 3-4 OLB?
3. If he has a good combine (and assuming Tate does too), who are you taking if both are available?
Assuming they both play this afternoon, you can watch them both flipping the channels today at noon -- eastern time.
Bailey -- I think the best part of his game is his actual get off. He comes out of his stance so fast. He has a really nice spin move, rip, chop, swim, bull rush. He has plenty of moves. His go to seems to be the spin move even if he doesn't start with that move at times -- but he goes to it especially whenever the O lineman locks him up some initially, where he tries and often succeeds to spin out of the O lineman's grip.
I think he can play 4-3. I get the question, since he's now more of a standup rusher, but plays with his hand in the dirt sometimes too. Does he hold up against the run? Not sure one way or another. But heck I would take it even if he's mostly a 3rd down rusher.
As for who I'd take. Carnell Tate. For a few reasons and change.
A. Wrs tend to make a more immediate impact
B. I think Tate is tailor made to this offense -- we need a Z who can stretch the field
C. lol, I trust my eye more as to evaluating Wrs than i do edge. I have a good track record at that spot, including liking Terry before the draft when so many didn't. As for edge, I am hit and miss including worshipping Chase Young
D. A saw a study that showed more misses at edge than if I recall every spot but one in the first round. and as I dig in to the draft some I like the depth at edge. I do like the depth at WR though, too.
Klare feels like a nice match for the Commanders, especially if Sinnott continues to grow as a blocker and hopefully receiving and maybe some backfield/Hback time the rest of this year.
Right now he appears to be a 3rd rounder but if things continue and does well with workouts, he could slip into the 2nd.
Thinking of Bailey if we trade down a few spots or if we win more games than I think we will

Agreed but also adding Downs to the mix. We don't know where we will be selecting and who will be on he board with our pick whether they trade down or not.
Of course that game is filled with future NFLers
The Tate Smith combo is an amazing combo. Even Inness and their top two TEs Klare and Kazmarek are nice weapons for Ohio State

Too bad Bailey got hurt early.
A. Yes but certainly not by leaps and bounds. Most of the EDGEs taken in the first and second round this year have made plus impacts as rookies. The one guy who really seems to be struggling is Shemar Stewart.
B. Fair on fit with Tate
C. You shouldn’t beat yourself up about Chase. He was DROY and a rookie Pro Bowler. If it weren’t for the knee injury, despite the immaturity issues, he may have still made multiple Pro Bowls. He still might. He’s having a heck of a season this year.
D. I took a look at the misses in recent years in the top 15 and the misses have been due to knee injuries or the raw athletic types (ex Tyree Wilson). A guy with Bailey’s profile - the long, angular body type, the athletic traits & rush plan - feels like a high floor pick. My fear with him is his downside case is Will McDonald who is a fantastic pass rusher but also the worst run defending starting EDGE in the league.
Mykell Williams with one sack this season, Abdul with .5 sacks. Dallas Turner has been just OK. And that's me just quickly taking a glance at the last 2 drafts.
Bailey is a decent college player against the run, not sure about the pros. Agree that Bailey's body type everything being equal work in today's NFL. Curious about his length though before I land hard on that point.

I wonder how much of Carters struggles are because Bowen is a terrible DC? If we blame a lot of our struggles on Whitt, it's fair to do the same with the Giants. Carter has his own issues--I.e. missing meetings, but usage might be an issue too.

Seeing as we will likely have a top 7 pick, I think you have to grab him if he's there. We completely whiffed on passing over Kyle Hamilton for that bust of a linebacker and have been paying the price ever since. Having said that, I hope we get a good package of picks to move back and pick up a stud WR in the top 15.

Mykell fits squarely in the mold of a guy who got overdrafted on traits because the production wasn’t really there in 2024.
Abdul has only one fewer pressure than Burns playing 50 fewer snaps
Van Ginkel and Greenard were both All Pros last season at EDGE for the Vikings so Turner understandably didn’t get an ideal number of snaps. He has come on this year as a starter and has 4 sacks in his last 3 games
