Edit: wrong thread
I think he needs the reps and would play him - IF that elbow is 100%. If that is next year so be it.Agree, looked at least uncomfortable if not in pain, being careful with the arm in the brace, not smiling like we're used to.
Even if there was no ligament/etc. damage **requiring surgery**, a dislocation as noticeable/gruesome as that one is going to tear things around the joint. Even with Daniels' seemingly miraculous powers of recovery, I'd be really surprised if he's able to play again this season. Reminds me of Jorge Mateo's similar non-throwing arm injury with the Orioles, which eventually required Tommy John surgery; both injuries hard to watch on film. Sounds like Daniels' injury is not as bad, but still... it's not good.
Love to know where that 4th
win is coming from.
He definitely will never adjust from whatever he has planned pre game. The thing is that it probably just isn't fair to judge him with the demoralizing injuriesI was thinking something similar in the Georgia/Texas game last night. For all the glazing, Mike Bobo makes terrible adjustments. Georgia's QB was under attack most of the game until the last few drives in the 4th Quarter when Texas had become demoralized.
Kingsbury seems to learn nothing and sticks with things stubbornly, even when they fail. I hope there is something in the execution we're missing that he knows should be there, but the same issues keep popping up.
I have full faith in JD5 the football player and person. I know I am just some 50 year old fan that stopped playing football in HS. However, that kid has "it." I don't care if it is Tom Brady out there, a QB is gonna have problems throwing to a JAG who the week before was on his couch. playing video games.Sheehan and Keim have now seperately addressed the Kurt Warner takes -- strongly hinting that its from discussions with the team. Summarizing both of their takes combined.
A. this FO remains super high on Jayden, their faith hasn't wavered even a little.
B. WRs aren't going to the right spots and right depths and Jayden is hesitating at times because the breaks the WRs are making aren't what they are supposed to be. So guys connecting to the team (assuming either coaches or FO people) think that Warner's takes are a bit comical considering he has no clue what the routes are on the plays he's critiquing.

I've heard enough from beat writers on the topic, if they are in the know, that those who are hoping that Jayden is just put on the shelf for the reason of the season, they will be dissapointed, it likely won't happen. Only shot for it -- would be is if Jayden has a setback with his injury.
But summarizing it. 4 reasons why Jayden will play. But will see....
1. You just don't shelf a player for the rest of the season because you fear a new injury. It would be odd. If its a couple of games, maybe but not 4-5 games
2. Going back to the previous point, it would likely piss off Jayden who wants to play and he likewise would find it odd and if anything a slap in his face where its like dude sorry we don't trust you, so we will treat you differently compared to what other teams do.
3. He's still a young QB, needs the reps.
4. Refind some of the momentum from last season. Is the new reality this team just sucks now? Or does the culture from last season have some legs where you can explain that it was just a cursed season but once they got some of their players back they saw some glimpse of the magic. Is this still a destination spot for FAs like we heard last off season, or do players see this team as a one off winner but truly is a loser. Don't get me wrong, money speaks more than anything in FA, but sometimes as Keim pointed out, it can be equal where the money is similar and some FAs in the past preferred to go elsewhere everthing being equal

Don’t you know, 73.4% of statistics you read on the internet are made up.That's a cool tweet and all, but any idea the sample size here? Jayden has had very few deep attempts this year, so the sample size isn't comparable to 2024, making that comparison pretty meaningless.
I think sometimes QB analysis by experts/social media take the low hanging fruit of just selecting a few plays a QB missed passes on and then try to extrapolate a larger explanation out of context of the overall QB performance. There is hardly ever a game week to week that Kurt Warner or any one else couldn't select a few missed passes and say "This is concerning."
If I had one critique of JD5 this season, in the limited time he has been out there, is that he does seem less willing to take some of the checkdowns he did last season which is why as a rookie a lot of the analysists felt he his IQ for the game was beyond where it is for most normal rookie QBs. I started to wonder if Jayden had so much success as a rookie that being that he is still a very young QB in his second year he felt pressure of the expectations to do everything bigger & better so he would hold the ball to long to hold out for the big plays, waiting until the absolute last second to hope for something to develop instead of just dropping back going through reads and letting the ball go where the the open guy was.
I was at the Seattle game. JD had zero time to scan the field. Seattle’s D was busting the O-line in 2–3 seconds. He had no chance and no one to throw to. Of course we had the inevitable first down and unsuccessful run up the gut on almost every first down. Kliff is horrible. Warner is a dud.Absolutely as far as you can find anything if you cherry pick. On the Seattle game, same one Warner criticized, if you go through play after play, its insane how much their WRs were covered. Was it every play, nope but it was clearly most. I mentioned it before Warner did his thing and said on a few I saw Ertz open. But there was context to it, he was looking for the bigger play -- which leads to your point.
Also as Keim and Sheehan mentioned talking to sources with the team, the WRs are struggiling to run the correct routes and depths. And based on that I gather in turn as a QB you have to resort to waiting for the WR to get open versus trusting to throw with anticipation, so hence the hesitation. If you just throw with antcipation and the WR isn't there, you got a pick maybe or an errant throw. It changes everything.
But IMO I think why he's looking for the big play is they fall behind so fast. You can't check down if the idea is to win when you are getting smoked, Seattle out up 31 points in the first half.
You need to give Jayden something to succeed. Mahomes sometimes has good weapons, sometimes not, but has something to hang his hat on aside from just himself, their defense for example is very good.
Jayden has a good O line now. But, it wasn't good earlier in the season when Coleman was struggiling at LG, Allegrett at RG and Conerly at RT. It was bad back then. Now its settled, with Cosmi back, Paul being at last OK, and Conerly improving.
He had the worst defense in the NFL, no running game because teams where crowding the line of scrimmage, and the worst receivers in the NFL. It's a lot for any QB to overcome.
When he comes back, I think it will be better. Defense probably not as bad with Quinn running it, Terry I gather will be back, maybe Noah, at looks like Kliff has finally figured out how to revive the running game by using an extra O lineman, and the o line is better.
