Official Game Thread - Week 9 - Seahawks @ Commanders

How many picks do we have next year??? 🤔
 
Kliff can sometimes scheme up killer plays but the more I watch his offenses the more I can’t shake the feeling that he has no feel at all for play sequencing or adapting to what the defense is actually doing. He’ll get his runs in when we aren’t getting killed but they’ll be at the worst times or with no creativity at all, for instance. Not like what I see from Shanahan disciple run games at all, like McVay, McDaniel, Coen, (and Shanahan of course) etc. Even with mediocre OL talent or poor game script I still see run calls that work effectively and aren’t obvious.

I felt this way after six weeks last season but swallowed my criticism as we went on that run through the rest of the regular season and into the NFCCG. Because something was obviously working, but it turns out it was just Daniels balling out in an immense way.

But I can’t shake it. Kliff is a problem imo. And what sucks is we’re going to be less likely to hire an outside OC whenever he moves on (for whatever reason) because we’re going to want continuity for Jayden…and Kliff’s offense is almost unique in the NFL. He doesn’t come from a coaching tree that has other disciples in the league, really. So Brian Johnson or someone who has been working in this system for two years will be the choice, even if it’s not the best choice (as opposed to someone like Mike McDaniel who brings a better pedigree but new terminology, design, and language, etc.)

Between life after Kliff and life after Whitt I’m not feeling amazing right now. We’re going to be a franchise going into year 3 (or 4 if they last longer) of the regime learning new systems on both sides of the ball, potentially.

Another drive killing penalty. How do you keep getting 15yd personal fouls on offense? We are just playing in mud. Our line wasn't great last year and we were getting more going
 
Man, looks like they're taking all of Jayden's reads away early,, he's always looking to scramble. Either the line isn't holding up or receivers are struggling to get open....so fucking underwhelming
 
Another rough night coming up. I just hope we can beat the Dolphins. This is going to be another 6-11 season.
 
We weren't going anywhere with these injuries. Wagner finally declined; the team is not deep. Time to develope players and pick up draft choices.

To each their own. I was just saying the opposite to my wife not used to Jayden looking that serious and defeated
 
Looked like his elbow was down out of bounds before the second foot came down on the pick but it was close.

Same mistakes have been killing us all year. Penalties and turnovers.

Injuries piling up. LMC hurt now.

Seattle looks strong. Tough sledding. Somebody needs to step up now, really need to break this losing streak.

Uniforms look good though. Hail #81!
