Do you know how much data and modeling that will require? I think for that to happen they will also have to have chips embedded at every hash mark per yard. Also? the bandwidth to send the data to the AI cluster, have it get computed, and then send it back to the stadium, within a reasonable amount of time.Yeah my thing with the AI stuff is....if you are going to implement AI technology into the officiating then use it to it's actual capabilities which is removing the judgment call stuff from the officials whenever possible. Penalties like pass interference are too gray area for AI to likely have a fair assessment every time especially since officials a lot of times come up with their own criteria for how they allowed individual games to be played (now, consistency, that is a whole other issue) but something as simple as spotting a ball correctly to determine a 1st down or turnover on downs if you let the official first set the spot and then say "AI measure it from where I placed it" then the entire process is flawed to begin with. Let AI determine the actual spot in the first place.
