Yeah, but what I mean is the winner puts themselves a game behind the Eagles, a game up in the division head to head, and the loser is at least 2 back. Dallas has that silly tie, so that's bizarre. That's not unrecoverable, but the loser might really be looking at wild card positioning while the winner is still in the race.

Last year he was stuck on terrible Jets team, but he was top 10 in passing yards and touchdowns. This year he is leading a much better Steelers team, which is 4-1 and poised to win their division, and his current passer rating of 105.4 puts him in the top 10. I really expect the Steelers to make a run this season.

I still wonder what could have been if we took Aaron Rodgers instead of Carlos Rogers in 2005.

There are 23 teams which could say that, really. It's still a really odd draft. Going into the draft, it was him and Alex Smith, and the thought they were neck and neck for the #1 overall pick. Then Smith went #1 overall, and Rodgers slipped all the way to 24, where the Packers traded up to get him, if memory serves, with the 24th overall pick while still having maybe SLIGHTLY past his prime Brett Favre on the team.

Very odd.

I do think sitting for 3 years helped Rodgers. He wasn't expected to play right away, and then when he did, he started playing really well immediately. Same with Love. Same with Mahomes, but he only sat for a year, Rodgers and Love sat longer.

Would Gibbs have been able to be as good for Rodgers early as McCarthy ended up being for him? Unclear. I wouldn't ever bet against Coach Joe. But Rodgers also ended up in a perfect situation for himself, even if he didn't realize it at the time.
 
I know I am in the minority, and I do wonder how severely I am. I prefer NOT to have a George Pickens headcase. It just doesn't matter how great he is. I saw enough of his antics in Pittsburgh. It's frankly the typical Cowboys player though.
 
If you're new to football, you may think Drake Maye is better than Jayden Daniels based on this year. If you know what you're watching, you understand that the playcalls are totally different. The scheme is way too predictable and poorly called here. The stupid Pats are doing more with less. Kliff is doing less with more. That's my take.
 
Should've never have traded for Lattimore. Teams don't willingly let good players,especially at corner,go.

Gave up alot for a hurt player that was already on the decline when a smart, forward thinking GM would've kept focus on rebuilding an old depleted roster with much needed draft picks.

Lattimore has brought this team absolutely nothing they could've got in the draft or off the street.
An overall bad decision.

Let’s be glad he learned this lesson early in his tenure of being the final decision maker for the first time. We made a deep playoff run, one game from the SB. It’s understandable that earlier in that run when it was clear we were hot and could do it, they felt they had to do something about the secondary and took a risk to give us a chance. Lesson learned.
 
Tonight Jayden Daniels led the team in rushing yards. Marcus Mariota finished second.

Last year our leading rusher was Jayden Daniels. It will probably be a running back this year, but maybe not.

The back is not the problem. Teams are stacking the box and taking away the running game.

I am just so depressed. We aren't much further along than we were 2 years ago, sans the QB of course. The oldest team in the league and their season is now over before Halloween. Again. Real concerns about the front office. Last year's draft class other than Daniels is giving them nothing. A trade for Lattimore made perfect sense at the time, I was a big fan of the deal. But the moves Peters is making are not working, that is a big concern.
 
A year ago, I leaned more towards Drake Maye than Daniels. My preference wasn't about talent or potential, but about injury. Last year was amazing and while I still think we made the right choice, it's hard to keep those fears about durability down.

Some will view citing our ridiculous # of injuries as 'excuse making' but I just don't think you can ignore that as a huge factor in how the season is going so far. Note I didn't say the only reason, but to pretend that the available talent coaches have to work with is not a primary factor I think would be a mistake.

Lucas Havrisik balled out for the Packers kn the two games while McManus was out and hit a 61 yarder. We should at least add him to our PS and be ready to promote him if we are out of the hunt as I doubt Gay will be here next year

After a fantastic 2024 campaign, this season could be considered a heat check for Commanders general manager Adam Peters. His shot might have clanked off the rim. It has been a tough year for the Commanders, who have seen many of the players they expected to build around in 2025 either show age-related decline too quickly or regress in their second season with the team.

The Washington O-line hasn't been great, but that generally hasn't been because of Tunsil, who has been above average in pass protection. Conerly, his counterpart on the right side, struggled badly early in the season and might have been a candidate to hit the bench. Other veterans haven't lived up to expectations. In terms of players who moved this offseason, though, it has been tough to see the 35-year-old Wagner struggle to keep up in coverage, where he has allowed a 124.7 passer rating in coverage.
