I would tend to agree but last year feels like a thousand years ago, this team is not anywhere near as aggressive and this defense is so sketchy that im not entirely sure we wouldn't be better off trying to set the tone.
 
There we go! What a throw, and WHAT A CATCH. Really good job getting that hand down, because that knee hitting in was very much a 50/50.

Zoom out and have a little perspective. We have a larger sample size than just each week, this team is scrappy even when they’re sucking. We aren’t very talented yet, we’re inconsistent, the D scheme is questionable. And yet we compete, even after poor starts that would have snowballed on prior regimes. Every poor start being compared to the Rivera years is just extremely reactionary and annoying. Going straight into “fuck this team” mode because they don’t look good just feels like spitting in the face of where we are now compared to 2-3 years ago. Have some perspective.

Oh look, TD because we have a franchise QB. Even though he’s throwing a dumb INT and dropping the ball randomly, he’s still the same guy if you can hold more than the past quarter in your mind

Last year’s team wasn’t last year’s team at this point in the season either. The slow starts are irritating but we also still aren’t very talented.

What’s funny is I’m not even a rosy homer, I’m generally seen as a cynic, over the years. But I realized over the years that my cynicism wasn’t standalone, that’s just how my rationality presented itself during the Snyder years because everything was actually always bad. Being rational now leads to something other than cynicism most weeks.
