Official Game Thread - Week 6 MNF - Bears @ Commanders

Man this Jets-Broncos game is some of the most brutal and conservative offensive football I've ever seen. I remember watching Skins teams like this. It's one thing to be bad but to be bad and boring is the absolute worst. That's why DQ is one of the best oxymorons in NFL history. He's a defensive coach who always hires a true offensive genius, gives them full control of the offense, tells them to be aggressive, and he himself loves to go for it on 4th down. You have to love that about him. Most defensive guys prefer to play 3 yards and a cloud of dust football and just win 16-13 every week

It was the right bet to bring Noah back on his $3M deal
How? Z is younger, cheaper, less injury prone, and has been more productive. I also think that he's more explosive with more natural upside. He also has the quickness to be good in the slot, not just the outside

I wasn't around this board during the off season and I no longer live in the area but I was wondering why the decision to choose Brown over Zaccheaus and even after that, how come we still didn't bring back Z anyways since he only signed for 1.5mil.

I understand that we had the young guys but none of them were proven and even at best case with the vets, both Deebo and Brown have mixed significant time due to injury and Terry is now 30 which is why you hesitated to pay him anyways. I understand letting Dyami walk since he got 10mil but Z only got 1.5...smh

I honestly think it’s because Brown plays outside, whereas Zaccheus more so plays slot, which is where we do actually have some young talent (plus traded for Deebo). I think he wanted a definite opportunity and Ben Johnson sold him on the St. Brown slot role in that offense. Jokes on him, Luther Burden is way more talented and will take that role from him soon (and it hasn’t been a high volume role for Zaccheus bc he’s not St. Brown).

Conn spelled it out. It’s hard to find big X receiver types who can find separation. Noah had a couple massive games in 2023 so higher ceiling too.

I did wonder why we didn’t bring Crowder into camp. My guess is he may have just wanted to retire

2 mins to go in Dallas / Panthers game with Panthers driving!
Dallas in trouble in Carolina.
Winner winner!
Big game Monday night!

Chicago and Dallas can't stop the run. We lead the league in rushing and are tied for the most 200 yard rushing games since the start of last season. We should be able to run and have big plays off the play action against both teams. Jayden should find his rhythm more in each drive that we have. Time to put the league on notice. Exciting, explosive and physical football

Bears going into this game with their kicker labelled as 'questionable'

That seems to be something we've seen be a factor

All the talk of Washington playing for an NFC Wildcard is silly now. Go win this damned division.
All the talk early in the season of playoff positioning is generally silly. So much can happen so quickly in the NFL. Also, we still have 2 games with the Eagles, 2 games with Dallas and a game with the Giants.

At no point was the division ever out of reach mathematically.

It will be out of reach, however, if we have defensive efforts like we did in Atlanta. If that happens, then we get the Jim Mora "Playoffs?" gif all over the place.

Yeah I think the key to winning the division will be which ever team is able to start stacking wins together to create some space because as of right now, no one seems primed to run away with it for the time being. Division games could be key, but also avoid the absolute stinker performances against less good teams.

BREAKING NEWS:

Sources have just confirmed that Caleb Williams is going with the pink unicorn glitter swirl nail polish for Monday night's clash with the Commanders. This could be a huge problem for the WAS defense, who spent the week preparing for the matte blue French tips.

You are right on both counts, stacking wins and division games. I think more than ever, the division games are going to be key this year. They struggled mightely with the Cowboys last season without Dak. They need to not do that again this year. I think the 2 Cowboy games might be the difference in the season. I think there's a good likelihood we split with the Eagles and sweep the Giants. Dallas is going to be the test.
