The Jayden Daniels Tracker

I don't know, seems like it would be pretty entertaining to have Madden doing a current Commanders game, just imagine the chaos on a JD5 scramble, the poor dry erase overlay would cause epileptic seizures while John hyperventilated with a series of "and then BOOM he takes off this way!"

Like what he did in The Replacements?

They showed JD in the bubble today and he looked pretty good. No big knee brace today. Maybe he had one. Couldn’t tell with the baggy sweats.

No knee brace or not, I still think you sit him this weekend, but keep ATL guessing as to what you're going to do. Mariota and a ground and pound running game can beat the Falcons.

Looks pretty great! I think he could play if it was the playoffs

Jayden out this week. DQ just gave a presser.

What else can you do but laugh at this point. Oh well lets see if Lane, Luke, Sinnot etc. can step up. Might see a bit of a lean toward the rushing attack this week.

There’s every reason in the world to expect to get stomped. Road game against a team who just got their wig pushed back. Missing our QB, top 2 wideouts and Bates.

But for some odd reason, I like our chances to go out there and run the ball down their throats with a little mix of play action, and leave ATL with a dub.

That sounds overly optimistic and it is. Unfortunately, I don’t carry those same vibes over to the rest of the season. It sure feels like the wheels are falling off early.

Defense really has to step up, we wont be able to match them score for score, hold them under 20 we have a chance.

So Jayden missing two weeks so far....if he doesn't play next week, is there cause for elevated concern about the injury overall or does this still feel like standard rest time period?

Seems pretty standard to me, but can’t say I have any real knowledge on the subject…

I may have misheard but it sounded like Watt said that DQ told him that the doctors cleared Jayden but the staff decided to let him have one more week off to get all the way back right.

This is what I wrote in the game thread in response to someone but it will repost it here since this is the JD5 thread:

It was 2 games. The first 2 games of the year with zero preseason throws and McLaurin missing the offseason, not to mention us having the toughest game of the season, having to travel to GB on a short week in the 2nd game of the year when no one in the league has the legs and stamina to barely play one full game let alone 2 in 4 days and having to travel. 5 will be fine. He's built different. You can tell by how frustrated and angry he was in the post game interview after our opening day win followed up by the same attitude in his presser last week.

He is one of the few athletes who you can really say puts more pressure and expectations on himself than even the fans do. He's a perfectionist. He had over 300 total yards in a two score win against NY and was upset. He legitimately wanted to play the last 2 games despite a clear injury and was upset that he couldn't. He's a true competitor.

He loves Terry but when they ask him about Terry possibly missing games, he says that he was gone all offseason so they are used to it. Any other QB would use that as an excuse incase the offense doesn't play well but he won't even give himself that excuse because he expects him and the offense to be great.

You can tell that he had high expectations for himself coming into the season so the slow start has upset him more than anyone. That's why I'm not worried. You can tell that he's chumping at the bit to get back out there and light the league on fire and you can also tell that's he singularly focused on it and no one is going to out work him to get there. I'm a very skeptical person but this is one kid that I don't doubt. Just skills are great but it's his mindset and traits that you only see in guys like Brady, MJ, Kobe, etc. No one wants it more. Don't lose the faith.

Full go at practice. That's good.

Also interesting (maybe?) Daniels is from LA. He's going to have a lot of folks come to the game. He said it was a dream come true to play NFL ball back home. Should be well motivated, though I don't think motivation is ever an issue with Daniels.

I am hoping we get a Juju Watkins sighting. It would be really cool if they were a thing. And the "they are cousins" thing was confirmed a false rumor.

I think it would be pretty shocking if Quinn wasn’t in those D room meetings and game planning sessions. Of course he is, I’m sure Whitt gets his input.

It’s not working, as the actual play calling (game day) and execution (practice days + talent) is poor. But in terms of evaluating opponent tendencies and cooking up the game plan, I think it would be very surprising to learn that Quinn isn’t attending and actively involved in those meetings. Offense as well when they don’t overlap. But you can’t be a CEO style HC if you aren’t overseeing those critical meetings and joining in, it’s a collaborative staff after all. Something about the collaboration is bearing rotten fruit, however.

JD still has a brace on and the last thing that I heard last week was his north south running was not an issue it was an East-West issue with his knee. Still concerned, but less.

RG3 fucked us all up! 🤣🤣🤣
