Official Game Thread - Week 2 - Commanders @ Packers - TNF

Going to be real tough. Pack are a top 3 team in the NFC most likely. I think it's really a toss up.

I'll be disappointed if we lose, but as long as we play well and look good overall, then win or lose I'll feel good going forward.
All this plus no injuries.

Also, there is a very good chance of seeing a rematch in the playoffs.

Banks and Tom would be huge misses in they can’t go.

Are we officially done with insomnia threads? I noticed we didn't do one week 1 (or I missed it if we did).

Either way, I'm already counting the minutes to kickoff. Big game on prime time, let's get it.

Quite honestly I think they are getting the edge because it’s in Green Bay. Even though they are picking against us nobody is picking us to get badly beaten.

Glad Quinn said we started preparing for this one during the preseason, knowing it was a short week. He would’ve gotten raked over the coals for admitting that if we’d lost to the Giants (even though I think it’s probably common practice), but now I’m just glad to know they’ve been working on this TNF game plan for a while.
You're probably right, but I'm not sure why. They have literally 7 months to prepare for the season. They might have started watching 2024 film in June or July. And maybe they did. At the very least, given the fact none of the 2024 film was changing, they could start really whenever they wanted to. They had plenty of time to prep for the first 2 teams in the off-season.

For sure, coaches just don’t usually directly acknowledge they’re working on the next gameplan before the first game is played. I’m sure it’s very normal, but fans can be dumb and irrational as a mob.

I kinda dig just having the official gameday thread early and having it all in one place, insomnia or not

You're welcome to start one if you like. As Conn says some of it becomes a little repetitive, but if you like the idea of having a thread just for those people who can't speak, as long as you label it correctly, it's fine.

Anybody can start a thread around these parts. Just try and have it not be entirely duplicative and well titled.

I think our last win in GB was back in 1988 so one of the more difficult stadiums to visit. With that said, I'm still feeling good about our chances.

I'm hoping GB has a letdown this week after their win against Detroit. Detroit was 6-1 against GB in their previous 7 games so hopefully, GB has a letdown this week.

Why exactly is everyone so confident in the Packers beating us? We were the better team last year. And yes, they added Parsons, but we upgraded our team just as much, or more.

Perceived quality of opponent. We both had dominant victories. But beating up on the lowly Giants is supposed to be par for the course for us, while them beating up on a supposed contending Lions is huge.

Neither offense had a turnover last week. If the same happens this week I look for a close win by us. I think turnovers might determine this game.

Yeah, I'm nervous also.

Conn I think I agree of having it all in one place. Really the only difference is that I do like that the insomnia threads tended to drift to more "what's everyone cooking/drinking" topics instead of game related thoughts.

But that's not to say we don't just kick that all off right here in one thread.

I'm just ready for the game already. 26 hours feels like waiting for Christmas. I've thankfully got a REALLY busy work day tomorrow right up until game time.

No creative food or drink for me this week with it in the middle of the work week.

Probably been asked already, but is there a prediction thread for this one ?
I'm interested to see who gets the first four or five carries for us, and if McLaurin gets more targets.
I'd feel better about this one if we were at home, but even with that I still put it at 50-50 on a win.

Not going to predict a tie, so I'll go 20 - 17 Washington.
