Official Game Thread - Week 2 - Commanders @ Packers - TNF

Not worth a panic, but worth a note...

Interesting. I wonder how much gamesmanship is involved. I remember seeing Brady on the injury report with a "right shoulder" very frequently, but I don't think that guy missed many games because of it.

Quinn was asked about it in his presser today to which he said "Zero concern, we're just trying to make sure we stick to the requirements" (paraphrasing).

Probably the best thing to get the Packers early. Love seems to start slow and throw a lot of picks early in the season. Parsons hasn't been there long either.
Parsons is on the injury report as well listed as limited with a back injury.

I think we will play better but so will the Pack.

Redskins 27
Packers 31

It's always really tough for road teams on Thursday night games (I picked GB on the pod). But some other things to consider:
-At least it is early in the season. So not as much wear and tear on the players for a quick turnaround game
-Also by being early - at least it is not the "frozen tundra" / extreme weather conditions Lambeau Field
-JD5 relishes games under the spotlight

The Packers are a good team. We are a good team. I think this is going to be a very good early season test.

I am optimistic we get the win here.

Going to be real tough. Pack are a top 3 team in the NFC most likely. I think it's really a toss up.

I'll be disappointed if we lose, but as long as we play well and look good overall, then win or lose I'll feel good going forward.

Really hard call for me. I'll go Washington 33 Greenbay 31

I know Schrager is close with Kingsbury so am surprised by this

I can go either way but am relaxed about this one. Feels like we are playing with house money. If they win this one, they will be the talk of the NFL.

A one score W for either team wouldn't be surprising. I am a bit surprised at how overwhelming the experts have decided to pick Green Bay but I haven't heard a lot of the actual analysis to know if this is more a situational thing (short week, on the road, tough place to play for road teams against a good defense) versus all of them believing the Packers are that much better of a team. Is this just a case of Green Bay being the shiny new media darling based on Week 1? I agree they are good team, but I am not so sure they are a juggernaut.

I honestly think if the offense goes out there and scores early, flipping the script on how good the Green Bay defense supposedly is, things might turn in our favor. With two good teams I am usually always going to go with the better QB and Jordan Love is more of a streaky QB than consistently good QB. The Parsons factor is real, but I think if you have an effective run game you can game plan around him. Parsons shines the most when offenses are forced to pass the ball a lot.

I will go with the homer pick on the road and say.........

Commanders 28
Packers 24

24-13 good guys. We get another picture of JD5 giggling while outrunning Parsons to the sideline.
