I was lucky enough to get to cover the Redskins during the Santana Moss era. He is one of the most humble and friendly guys I met during my coverage days. Zero ego and always willing to answer questions - and that was not a common trait in that locker room. He was the complete opposite of the guy across the locker room, Lavar Arrington. And one of the most electric WRs we have ever had in DC. So deserving.
 
There is part of me that thinks that Santana getting in before Ricky Sanders isn't right. Santana was a great player for us, but Ricky had moments that will forever be etched not only in Redskins' but NFL history.

Or something like that?

Hard Copy needs to find that woman and do an expose if true. And yes I know Hard Copy went off the air in 1999, but I find that fact to be irrelevant.

That was the beef I was referring to, but I have no idea the veracity of the rumors. Gruden openly hating the guy on twitter has to be a point in favor of them being somewhat true lol

Exactly. Me neither. Hence the need for a Hard Copy investigation!
 
Yeah i dont know about that. The overwhelming reporting was that Bibbs was sleeping with someone Gruden was also sleeping with and Gruden got butt hurt about it and cut him for Marshall.
 
Im about to be compared to Vinny Cerruto with this random thought. Micah Parsons is the only non QB in the league I would give 3 first round picks for. In our case we would have to trade Terry to another team (probably for a third round pick) just to be able to sign Micah and fit him under our cap. He would want to play for Quinn. We would have to then sign a Keenan Allen type receiver off the streets to partially make up for the loss of Terry. i know the Cowboys would never do this trade with us. Any thoughts? lol

Hard 'no'.

The truth is in today's NFL under the salary cap the way to win is to find the franchise quarterback, pay him, and then outside of LT you use draft picks and mid-tier free agents to fill in the balance of the roster.

If you are good in the front office you find TJ Watt with pick #30 or Chris Jones with a pick in Round 2.

A good GM doesn't mortgage the future to find a position player on defense.

My argument would be with Jayden Daniels we will more than likely be drafting no lower than pick 20 for the next 3 years.(baring injury) If you look at the 2022, 23,and 24 draft for example there is not really one impact player in the first round after pick 20. I think we tend to inflate the value of some of these late 1sr round picks. A player like Micah at the age of 26 comes around once a decade. In hindsight if we knew TJ Watt would turn out to be as great as he is and if he was 26 years of age, I would make that same trade for him also. Just a random thought due to boredom. The season cant start fast enough for me.

What you're talking about isn't Micah Parson instead of Brian Thomas Jr. What you're talking about is Micah Parsons instead of Brian Thomas Jr, Nolan Smith, and George Karlaftis ALL on Rookie deals, not only while you have your likely top of the market QB approaching a new deal, but also while you're paying Micah >$40m per year.
 
Let's look at the last 3 years for a moment, if we had drafted Brian Thomas, Jordan Addison, Trent Mcduffie, would you trade all three of them for Micah Parsons or a 26 year old TJ Watt? I probably dont make that trade because of Brian Thomas. Because I think Brian Thomas is going to be a superstar, If you replace Brian Thomas with Mitchell, Worthy or Guyton, I'm making that trade in a nano second. You make a good point about the salary cap and what you would have to pay Micah or a younger TJ, and in my scenario you would have to trade Terry to fit under the cap. I guess I'm sick of not having a superstar on defense in years.

But it's all connected. I understand the want for a defensive superstar, but right now there is a very distinct window thats opened up with Jayden on rookie deal. The best way to maximize that is first round talent that can walk in a supplement day 1. We're entering a situation with our O-line that doesn't exactly scream stability long term. Biadasz is entering his 2nd year of a 3 year deal. Cosmi is coming off an injury, and Tunsil is going to want new money. There may be a lot of flux along that O-Line over the next 3 years to protect Daniels. Bobby Wagner, Zach Ertz, Austin Ekeler, Terry McLaurin... All right now they're not exactly locked in beyond 2025. Late 1st round talent could be significant to replacing them long term....

Don't get me wrong, I'd love to have Parsons on the roster, but 3 years of 1st round picks? that's too rich for my blood.
 
I am in St. Maarten for the week, and was at the airport and I saw a guy wearing #17 jersey. And it was a Redskins’s jersey and I thought, wow, that’s got to be a rookie Terry McLaurin jersey. That’s rare to see out in the wild.

And the turned around. And it was a Jason Campbell #17 jersey

I said something to my wife like “that’s really an odd choice to wear on a flight.”

She commented that jerseys are expensive and I said something like, “if you make a bad life choice by buying a JC17 jersey in 2009, you don’t have to remind the world about it in 2025.”
