I agree he had the right to move on. The problem is there was a significant part of the fan base that didn’t want to move on who were ignored. I 100% agree ‘outsiders’ should stay out of it. But ignoring what such a large portion of fans wanted may end up having the opposite effect of ‘putting it to bed’.

There is a sick, twisted part of me that will enjoy watching whatever drama ensues.

I am 99.99% certain that had Harris chosen any name other than ‘Redskins’ this would have happened exactly the same way.

I am fairly certain 99% of Commanders fans "like" or "love" this!

Re: Team name

Something I learned a very long time ago. There are only so many things that are within my control in my life. Focus on those points, and manage them the best that you can.

"There are two rules to living well. The first is, don't sweat the little shit. The second is, it's all little shit. In other words, it's all okay. We may be lost, but we're way ahead of schedule."
- David Lee Roth

Let it go people... it's like all of your shoes are size 11 and your feet have grown into a size 12. All you do is complain about your shoes being too small. Adapt and change. Buy some shoes that are comfortable for your feet. You cannot go back to a size 11. Get over it

I’m more concerned about my belt size.

Muriel Bowser was just on 106.7.
She sounded pretty positive on the deal getting done. They really didnt get into the name very much, but to me at least, it didn't sound like the name had been a big part of the discussion of the deal, either way.

Has it been posted that the head of the DC council says they have a modified agreement with the team that they are ready to vote on?

Edit:

Apparently the public hearings are July 29 and 30, so we can probably expect a vote in the following 48-72 hours.

^^this is the winning angle when speaking to the skeptical public, imo. It’s not a choice between stadium or housing. If no stadium, that area rots. There is no alternative plan, no group of billionaires willing to finance 80% of the work. It just sits, and you still have no housing.

This way leads to some housing at least, and revitalizing that area

Brianne Nadeau: But what about the libraries?!

Council just needs to do the right thing now.

They wouldn’t be putting it to a vote if they didn’t have the votes lined up. These public hearings are for show, so they can say they listened to their constituents. The matter is already decided.

You would think so but I've seen some strange sh*t here in Buffalo when it comes to the Common Council. You get a few of those "Why should I vote for it? What's in it for my district ? " guys and nothing gets done. When I moved here in 76 they were talking about developing the waterfront. 41 years later they FINALLY started doing something with it. These guys could count their own balls and not get the same numbers twice.

Maybe it’s just me with the current state of affairs, (because I’m always waiting for the next person to piss on my parade)…I will believe it when I see it.

Never underestimate the powers that exist beyond your control’s ability to screw something up for you.
