Random Commanders Thoughts

Continuing along this theory, the reason so many longtime fans dislike the new name is because it only ranks a C.

So...been waiting in line since 4:30am to buy tickets for the Madrid game. I'm #207877 in line. WTF? Pro scalpers with muliple bots screw us normal peeps trying to get tickets. What a freaking joke...

While your position isn't great, I'm reading about people who are 700k+ position in line. I'm over 330k. No doubt there will be bots. Not feeling hugely optimistic, but prepared to travel alone if needed. Last time I tried for London, there were only single seats left when I got through.

My buddy just got 4 @$650/each (OUCH!) My wait time is down to 22 minutes and rapidly moving forward!
Edit --- SUCCESS!!!

Pleased for you. When I got in, there weren't many tickets left and I found the user interface completely unusable on my phone. Even when I selected tickets it wouldn't let me buy them.

Thanks. Yeah, the interface was pretty crappy on my laptop. I think what happened was the 'lounge' opened early. I logged on at 3:45am and it allowed me to get in the room. Then at 5:00am I was put in the ticket queue. I got on before my buddy & he got tickets before me. It wasn't a good process at all. Sorry you missed out but hope you're still going. The London game (even though we tied) was pretty special. Great time with the locals & US Skins fans, too!!!

I don't know if this has been discussed here, but what the heck is the team doing limiting training camp tickets to the extent they did? Within half an hour of the schedule being put out, all of the tickets were gone. Seems like a rare misstep by the HOG. This would have been an amazing time to keep building the fan base by letting as many people as possible in to see the team during the summer's camp. I was planning on taking my six year old, who is just starting to get into the team to really stoke his fandom and let him see the players live (in the hope that he might want to watch them on tv because he's seen them practice) but it's not to be. Really disappointing... :(

The disrespect, I tell ya…

I googled this question:

Me: which current coaches in the NFL have lead two or more franchises to the conference championship game

Google AI: Andy Reid is the only current NFL head coach who has led two different franchises to the conference championship game.

That’s not right…so I went to ChatGPT:

Me: which current coaches in the NFL have lead two or more franchises to the conference championship game

ChatGPT: Right now the only active NFL coach in that elite group is Andy Reid — he’s the sole current coach to have led two different franchises to conference championship games.

Let me know if you want team-specific breakdowns or playoff success details!

Me: Your answer is wrong.

ChatGPT: You're right—my previous answer was off. Let's clarify. Among currently active NFL head coaches, the only coach who has led two different teams to conference championship games is:

Andy Reid

No other current NFL coach has accomplished this with two different teams:
  • Pete Carroll has only ever taken the Seattle Seahawks.
  • Sean Payton, Jim Harbaugh, Mike Tomlin, John Harbaugh, and others have reached championship games, but exclusively with one franchise each.

Final Answer:

Only Andy Reid qualifies among active NFL head coaches for leading two separate franchises to conference championship games.

Let me know if you want deets on specific runs or how close others came!

Me: Your answer is still wrong. Andy Reid is not the only coach.

ChatGPT: You're absolutely right—there’s a second coach I missed! Here are the currently active NFL head coaches who've each led two different teams to conference championship games:

Active NFL Coaches Who Qualify

Final List

  • Andy Reid – Eagles & Chiefs
  • Dan Quinn – Falcons & Commanders
So yeah, it's not just Reid—Dan Quinn is right there with him. Thanks for pushing for the full answer!

It only got worse when I logged in again under a different email lol…this time it tripled down on itself and even had a slight attitude on the third response, like “how many times do I have to say it?”

After that third time I asked “What about Dan Quinn?”…it said he only made it to a Conference Championship game with the Falcons and said he was also DC for the Cowboys, and that’s it. It didn’t register that he was the head coach of the Commanders. I had to ask it who was the head coach of the Commanders, then ask the question a 4th time before it apologized profusely and got it right.

Effin’ A.I. lol…

Yeah, the bots and professional ticket sellers are out of control. I went to Providence for the NCAA tournament this year and ticket prices were insane. Sellers buy up so many tickets to resell them and it resets the price point. Even in your brain, it resets the price as you see tickets that cost more than they should as a good deal becuase all the other tickets are outrageous.

Anyway, I’m glad you were able to get tickets. I know it will be an amazing experience.

Copilot got it right.

As of the 2025 NFL season, two active head coaches have led multiple franchises to the conference championship game:

🏈 Coaches with Multiple Franchises in Conference Title Games

CoachFranchises Led to Conference ChampionshipNotable Runs
Andy ReidPhiladelphia Eagles, Kansas City Chiefs5 with Eagles (2001–2008), 6 with Chiefs (2018–2023)2
Dan QuinnAtlanta Falcons, Washington Commanders2 with Falcons (2016–2017), 1 with Commanders (2024)

Reid is especially notable for being the only coach in NFL history to lead two different teams to three consecutive conference championship games. Quinn, meanwhile, joined the Commanders in 2024 and quickly added another deep playoff run to his résumé3.

If you're curious about coordinators or coaches who came close, I can dig into that too. Want to explore how their playoff strategies differ?

That intelligence seems artificial.
Such is the problem with artificial intelligence: it is built on a platform of natural stupidity.

Also, prescient as Terminator 2 is likely to be, Skynet won't nuke humans because it identifies them as the greatest threat to its existence. It will nuke us because someone asks it to calculate 9 + 0 and it gets a bit confused working out the answer.

AI is only as good as the recency of it's data. ChatGPT (at least the last time I checked) was nearly 2 years behind in terms of world events and data. It can't pull what isn't in it's database. And yes still in it's infancy

But that doesn’t explain why it 1) knew Dan Quinn was the head coach of the Commanders and 2) that the Commanders had gone to the NFC Championship game. It just didn’t put 2 and 2 together. I think it simply tried to google the answer and re-state the search results in its own words.

It also doesn’t explain why it didn’t retain this data when I asked it the same question again.

Maybe the computers aren’t going to take over the world as soon as we thought

Though I will say, I do the data for my daughter’s swim team. So for every meet, I have a heat sheet with times. Until this year I would go through and “score” the meet to see who would win and give the output to the team reps and coach’s so they had something to look at during the meet.

This year I upload it to ChatGPT and give it the scoring system and it gives me a spreadsheet and saves me a lot of time. It can read and decipher the pdf unstructured data and figure it out. This makes me happy.

Skynet might be a ways off though.

ChatGPT is learning…it now lists Dan Quinn along with Andy Reid when I asked the question. However, it now also includes Sean Payton for some reason, even though it acknowledges he has not taken the Broncos to the Conference Championship game yet.
