(New Poll) The Washington Commanders Brand 2.0: Beer Drinkers and Hail Raisers

I’m guessing that means a major reimagining of the Commanders branding and uniforms is underway and we won’t just get tweaks to the colors or existing uniforms. They’ll probably roll out a whole new Commanders look that does go back towards the traditional B&G w/stripes look, etc. That’s my guess—that it’s not a small project

DP, I think you’ll get a ton of heat and pushback saying Harris has ‘crapped on fans’… I know you added the caveat that you were speaking about ‘the brand’ specifically but given Harris has pretty much rescued this franchise from the pits of hell and already elevated us to Super Bowl contenders, that’s kind of crazy over the top.

You know I have strong feelings about the name specifically and I do think he has botched that issue entirely - whether some of the fan fav alternatives were ever possible or not, he just handled it clumsily and even a little scornfully which has surprised me as he’s supposedly a lifelong fan.

But that doesn’t alter the fact that he has and is doing incredible things to make the franchise relevant for the first time in forever. The name is never coming back, not even a better alternative one. He’s made that clear. As for the rest of it, I don’t really care but that’s just me. And frankly, I think all of the talk about trying to go back to previous uniform styles and somehow slap the ‘W’ on there is kind of silly. We aren’t the Redskins anymore and no number of stripes or better shades of B&G is going to make us that. I’m hoping they don’t even bother changing the ‘W’ as I’ve gotten used to it and the odds of them doing something goofy if they try for a new logo are very high given no one even knows what ‘Commanders’ represents - although Harris and Peters pretend they do

Yeah, it won't. It would however at least make us feel like we're still watching the same team we've always rooted for for so long.

Harris on the uniforms:

I'm reluctantly interested to see how exactly that works out.

Honestly, just burning those white abominations and a yellow facemask is all I want at this point. Easy fixes for me personally. I have given up on anything beyond that.

Burn the putrid white designs of Satan and come out with whites that harken to the classic look and move forward.

The white jerseys are generationally bad and universally disliked. Can’t be that big of a deal to immediately improve.

Personally I like the helmet and think that a yellow facemask is unnecessary and possibly a negative add.

I have a black JD5, burgundy Luvu. I refuse to buy the white one. They look like the damned Cardinals. When they update those, I'll go McLaurin or maybe Mikey Sanristil. But not buying that crap now.

It’s just a matter of …. If you really aren’t going to do anything to change the uniform and get us back to historical colors, kindly STFU and quit stringing long time fans hopes along.
That’s the kind of BS Snyder did to this fan base and we all hated it.
He’d have been better off to have never mentioned it.
And from the looks of yesterday, he has no problem bringing Redskins legends out when he needs some positive PR.

All due respect, the team is drowning in positive PR, they didn't need anything.

Some people can’t help but actively seek old, familiar feelings—in this case: discontentment, unhappiness, distrust, misery. It’s a defense mechanism against letting yourself be vulnerable and open to new kinds of hurt again, in a sense. Old hurts are easy, familiar. The potential of new ones is scary, unsettling. Really the only way I can explain some fans.

The helmet on the right looks better.

Make that ' W " solid, instead of the stencil look, and put a white outline around it, and that would look good.

The stencil look was used because of the military connotation so I wouldn’t mess with it.
I would probably get rid of the stripe completely vs an awkward attempt to ‘Redskinize’ what really has nothing to do with the former name.

Just my personal opinions.

There's enough reporting on X to suggest there is a throwback uniform and alternate helmet coming, so it will be interesting to see how that goes. If I had to guess, WFT kit or maybe the Leatherhead look minus the indian head logo patch on the jersey? Either would be cool.
