That's never going to happen. Even if the player signed off on it, agents and the NFLPA would never allow a player to do it as it would set a precedent giving leverage back to the teams. A guy owed $5M that would count as $3M in dead money if cut would never agree to drop his number to $1M just because the team wants more flexibility. Even Mahomes who 'restructures' his contract almost every year is getting paid in totality of the contract.

It was interesting hearing Logan Paulson talking about Yankoff and Owens. He felt that they had the potential to be really good at special teams and might make a career out of it, but doubted they'd contribute all that much on offense or defense.

I think the one thing missing from the 2024 season was a Luke McCaffrey fake reverse pass. I kept thinking here we have this ex QB turned wide receiver. At somepoint we're going to see Luke throw the ball. Never happened.
