We need to be all in while JD is on his rookie contract. Yes we need to be smart about FA signings. But trading for veteran pro bowlers is worth the draft capital when you are making a SB run. Plus we have the cap space to take on their salaries.
 
Top dollar for top quality. That’s the key.
 
Our OL already outperforms the Chiefs OL. We need some dudes on the DL who can take over the game. We were just top 5 offense with a rookie QB.

We definitely need to improve our Defense but our OL is not as good as some numbers say. Kliff and Co really schemed around our tackles a ton and made it so they rarely had to just pass block a guy one on one without a help of some sort.

On top of that, the creativity allows for flexibility. Not saying that we don't need to address O-line, but I also think we as fans should (generality here, not specific to you) really remember that when Peters and co work. If we don't take an OT at 29, or make a big splashy signing in the offseason, i hope fans dont panic. A guy we all see as 'middle of the road' may very well be someone they view as a good schematic fit into this creativity.

Agreed, realistically we need this offseason and next to get to where we need to be. And that's with a high hit rate. I don't think any singular move is all that important this year outside of possibly getting Myles Garrett. A lot of smaller solid to good moves should be the hope for the most part. It's why I don't want Tee Higgins. That said OL and DL would be my priorities.

I know what you mean here, but JD was forced to scramble and picked up some firsts purely on his athletic ability.

That won't happen all of the time successfully - and all it takes is ONE bad hit. That's all.

A lot of those scrambles - and there were WAY too many of them - were caused by, to me, defenses keying on the pass as well as poor blocking. We need a better run game to help protect JD, and we do need improvement in our blocking scheme. That may be accomplished with a better RB who can do a much better job pass blocking; could be. I am not sure. I know JD trusts his legs so he does look to run more than others, and it works, but he scrambled too often for a guy we need to stay healthy. One of the most valuable things a player knows how to do is keep themselves on the field, whether that's through health/conditioning, or it's through playing smart. Playcalling really makes a big difference too, as well as scheme.
 
I'm sorry, but I must be the only one that thinks we need a LOT of work. I know, it's weird to that say after making it to the NFC championship game, but to me this feels almost like those days during the Snyder years when we would somehow win the East, make a big deal out of it, and get trounced in the first round of the playoffs. Granted, the air doesn't smell these days because Lord Farquaad isn't around any longer, but I still wonder what came together to get us as far as we did because let's face it, we played a BUNCH of scrub teams. AND we got lucky a few times (Chicago) and maybe, just maybe the football gods swung things our way because we sucked for so long. But I still think we need a LOT of work.

You're not wrong, but it all matters and works together.

I'm not saying ignore it, it needs addressed. I just don't think it requires a panicked decision. A 'middle of the road' type LT is capable of making things very different along our offense. A move that is underwhelming to fans, very well may be far more effective one the games start.

Look at a similar track record this past offseason

Zach Ertz
Jeremy Chinn
Nick Allegretti
Dyami Brown
Noah I
Marcus Mariota
Dante Fowler
Sheldon Day

All players that were underwhelming signing as they happened, and they became integral parts that resulted in and NFC Championship appearance.

The whole is always what ultimately determines the success and failure of the team, not the sum of it's parts.

We're still a ways away from being 'set.' We still need a lot of work, but I also don't want fans to go totally for broke, or be disappointed if we have an 'underwhelming' signing at OT in the offseason. Look, I'm never going to be upset if we find our next Trent Williams, but 4/5 of our offensive line is essentially spoken for. Allegretti - Signed a 3 year deal / Biadasz - Obviously coming back / Cosmi - Signed a multi-year extension / Brandon Coleman - 2nd year guy who hopefully can play either OT position. I think it's more likely we tinker, than wipe the slate clean.

I love this kid sooooooo much, more than I loved RGIII. (And for the record, that's a whole lot cuz Robert was my "hall pass" with my husband :ROFLMAO: ).

I don't want him to have to run for his life with no pocket protection.

These two statements contradict each other. How can you say this feels like the seasons we'd luck into the playoffs and get blown out in the first round when this year we made it to the Championship game and handily beat the Super Bowl-favorite NFC 1 seeds in their own house?
