Which Washington players provided the best value in 2024? And how might that change in 2025?

Hey Gooseneck.

Love the enthusiasm, but maybe do a little write up or provide a little bit of an opening post? Posting links are fine, but if all you have is the link that can go into the social media thread.

Terry esrned every $ and then some.

However, I’ve seen projections on a new deal for him looking like 3/85M.

I can’t stand to see this team without Terry, but also have a hard time stomaching 3/85.

Not so long ago, 3/85 was high end QB money.

3/85 is ridiculous but he has a cap hit of 25.5M in 2025. He will be 31 during the 26 season.

I'd just let him play on his current contract and see how it goes next year. We have the QB, you know he's going to want to stay and a 31 year old WR isn't going to be getting Jefferson offers.

Eh. I would extend him. You don’t want him going elsewhere and the cheaper option is to extend now and pay later. Could lower his number and help sign other complimentary players.

From a value perspective, there’s no question the answer is Daniels. Rookie QB deal playing like a top 5 QB. Mikey also was huge value as a rookie playing CB. Quan Martin on a rookie deal was ok.

Outside of the rookies:
Zac Ertz: $2.4m for his production was insane
Bobby Wagner: $6.5 for his production is crazy
Luvu: $3.8 cap his in 2024 becomes $12m in 2025.
Terry has been discussed

Jayden is the obvious choice. Ertz I think even more than Wagner as the old washed up vets. Sainristil moved out of position and held together the secondary.

The whole team seemed to play and contribute at a higher level than we could have expected. Maybe Payne as a big money guy didn't elevate his game with the new culture and enthusiasm.

Even Wylie who had looked like a huge liability proved to be serviceable.

Blasphemy! Of course we sign Terry for that. Class, integrity, leadership, durability, professionalism, and production. Zero diva-ness. He is a heart and soul player who’s payed his dues. Sure he may be more of a WR2 in 3 years but with the way salaries escalate every year it’ll still be a good deal. And even if he falls off the cliff by then, which I doubt, year 3 won’t be guaranteed anyway.

Daniels is the blessing but in evaluating 12-5 the curse as well.

HE made this offensive line look serviceable. HE kept the bad defense off the field enough so we didn’t get 40 dropped on us regularly.

So, to me this is a fragile 12-5 team.

If I were the GM I would look at this as a 5-12 team without Daniels and look to upgrade on that basis.

I don’t see too many players here that are genuine core guys that help you win a Super Bowl.

So overpaying ANY of them to me would be a mistake.

Declining or older players like Allen and Wylie need to go.

We need youth, speed and strength.

Defensively where would we have been without Mikey standing tall!
