Official Game Thread - NFC CHAMPIONSHIP - Commanders @ Eagles

Hurtz is taking up over 50M of their cap too.

While we have the most elite franchise QB in the NFC, who won't need to be paid for at least 2 more seasons.
Exactly, that is huge.

Quick aside, just heard (and read) that Joe Whitt took an interview for the NYJ position right now. Wow, good for him I guess. As always, you kind of wish there would be some kind of way to have the coordinators wait for elimination, but at the same time you hope they can grow their careers however they want or need to. Good for him.

I assume/hope that no one is considering going to Philly for the game?

Given how Eagles fans have behaved historically and as widely reported from the Packers game, I would strongly encourage you to reconsider.

I expect the intensity of this game will be enormous and a huge blessing that it's at 3 pm instead of a night game like this week.

The stands will be messy if experience is any guide.
If the Rams had won, I'd have booked my flights the moment the venue was confirmed.

I really want to rep my team in Philly, but nothing I have seen points to a positive experience for away team fans. I would want this to be an enjoyable experience, win or lose, and I think the risk is too high that it won't be. I'd be a lone traveller, too. With Jayden, I think its reasonable to expect us to make other championship games, even a home one.

At least it's the early game. That means I can watch live and not have to take time off. The AFC game will have to wait for Monday.

The injury and practice reports will be interesting this week. Not that I expect to learn too much about the extent of Hurts knee injury and I have no doubt he will play - but he’s going to be limited.

I would key Barkley like we did in the second half of the game after Hurts went out against us. Shut Barkley down and if the Eagles can beat us with Hurts running and throwing on one leg - congratulations.

On offense we have to be super aggressive. Lots of first down passing and put this squarely on #5. We know we can score 30+ on these guys - can they do the same with a gimpy QB if we limit Barkley?

Let’s find out.

Well, the Eagles had some issues against the Rams so I didn’t think you would see a large initial point spread for the game next week.

The Rams hurry up offense almost pulled that game out.

If Stafford had Daniels mobility LA likely would have won.

Matt at 37 is a bit of a statue in the pocket.
Thinking if it had not snowed Rams win that game

Hard to argue…

Yardage per game given up in the playoffs for the 4 teams in the Championship games.

Eagles - 352
Chiefs - 336
Bills - 320
Commanders - 402

Defense - and especially run defense - is our Achilles heel. Have to create a couple of turnovers.

We actually did well against the Eagles in both games. In the first, we even held a lead in the Fourth until the wheels fell off.

Snipers with tranq darts work well, too. Could also go old school and put laxatives in the gatorade.

This is true but we also faced two of the best offenses in the league in both of those games.
