Executive of the Year: Adam Peters?

Well, as we found out with Redskins staff abuse during the Snyder era, one of the challenges in determining what actually went on is that 'victims'/'plaintiffs' far too often are looking for a financial settlement vs. actually holding an individual accountable. The stories 'go away' because both parties are more than happy to make that happen. Not saying that's what transpired here, but it's quite possible.

That being said, yes - Adam Peters deserves to be Executive of the Year - I'm not sure who could rival what he's done in 2024.
 
At the end of the day Harris, Peters, etal made the right call to extricate the organization from the situation quickly. This organization, more than probably any other, needed and wanted to avoid any association or comparison to the long and sorted morally inept history of the Snyder regime.
 
Something to keep in mind is that NFL players have agents who are paid to get their clients the best contract possible. That includes making the player look good to prospective teams. To do that, less palatable parts of a player's life must be covered.

The bigger agents have professional fixers whose sole job is to handle situations that might make the client look bad if made public or limit the damage if something does go public.

My guess is for every guy investigating a player's background, a guy is working to scrub or conceal that background.

Not making excuses for Peters here. Just saying, the other guys get paid too.
 
Adam Peters receiving the Executive of the Year of Award shouldn't even be a discussion. The man hands-down hand crafted one of the biggest organizational turnarounds in sports history.

As much as we love this team, the organizational competency and culture improved from a sub-3 out of 10 (BH: Before Harris) to at least a 9 out of 10 (AH: After Harris). We have a great coaching staff, players who would be leaders on any team across the NFL, and an environment that current players are singing the praises of and stating they want to be a part of.
 

I didn't know where else to put this. In our coaching search, I really wanted Ben Johnson...to pair with Drake Maye. Ooops. In any case, I think a lot of us assumed that Dan Quinn was not our first choice. Apparently, when Peters interviewed for the GM position, the guy he pitched as his coaching hire was....Dan Quinn. There are so, so many great stories about the year we have been having.
 
I was hoping they took Maye too. I was scared of how skinny Jay was being a runner.

Glad I wasnt in the room, because Jayden seems like Jordan.....not even going to compare him to another rookie qb. He seems like Jordan

I mentioned this on this week's pod as well. No one (well, no one other than Adam Peters) was enamored with the Dan Quinn hire. It felt like failure as all we had heard was that it was going to be Ben Johnson or Mike McDonald the other 'hot' coordinator on the other side of the ball.

How lucky it now looks that neither of those guys were the choice (not that they won't be ultimately successful but Quinn clearly was the perfect choice to turn this thing around with Peters).

I was in that camp. I was sick and tired of retread QBs which we've seen so much through that other era. I really wanted a HC who would grow with this team and be the next great even though that comes with greater risk. No matter what the spin is, I think the team was leaning that way too though I'm guessing their rankings between Quinn and Johnson were smaller than mine were.

I looked at Quinn and saw Rivera, Schottenheimer, and Shannahan. What Peters saw was that hunger comes in many different flavors.
