Hey, Mark The Homer ... I've been meaning to tell you this for a few days, but life's been pretty wild... :yikes: :cheer2:

One day about 10 years ago, I went wandering through the "Members" on ES.

I noticed that they were consistent names with different numbers added in. They left on the day they came on with no posts.

That led me to believe that the membership was "padded" at some point.

That'd be amazing. I think we match up really badly against the Ravens. Then again, I don't think we match up much better against the Bills. I think Houston would be our best bet among the teams left.

I don't know anything about that. I do know the membership was cleaned up at one point because we had a whole lot of members who were inactive. Thanks for your timely report :D

once you become more physical, you can match up with the Ravens. You aren't far off.
 
We have blockers in place to keep spammer registrations off the site and one of the best firewalls available to block spammers, in some cases from entire countries. A lot of websites just allow spammer registrations because it drastically inflates their 'member' numbers. It's just a dumb game. We've always felt inflating our member numbers wasn't worth the risk of allowing spammer accounts access to the site.

Now, back to the thread topic.

TK announced he was thinking about a new frontpage banner for the site. So I came up with this.

Presented it to him. No response. Like a vacuum. Never did hear an explanation. Nothing ever happened. The front page banner remained the same. So I had used it for my sig for a while.
 
Even though some fans seem a little pissed off about ES being gone, I'm thinking that the team probably picked about the best time to drop ES.

The team is winning for the first time in over a decade. First 11+ win season in 33 years. First playoff win since Mark Brunell and his net 25 Yard passing game vs Tampa in 05.

Almost everybody who wasn't already posting here found this site because there is finally something exciting to talk about.

If they killed ES in 2022 most everybody probably would have just said screw it.

Thank you. I felt the banner used at the time was weak, and I thought replacing it was a good idea.

I wanted to bring back some of the good ideas from the original banner which Blade had introduced years earlier. From the OP:

One of the more obvious contributions Blade made was the design and creation of the original "EXTREMESKINS.COM" logo. The "EXTREME" part of "extremeskins" was italicized to add emphasis to "extreme." The idea for the horizontal stripe through the "EXTREME" characters came from an old SportsCenter font. The "SKINS" part of the logo was in the pythagorus font. The feather and, of course, the burgundy and gold were borrowed from the team. The X was made extra large not only because X's were cool, but also to balance out the image and fill the blank space that would otherwise exist in the lower left area of the logo.

So I'm also a refugee from ES. Originally registered in 2005. I asked for a voluntary permanent ban about 5 years ago, then re-registered under a pseudonym about 2 years later and posted some. My claim to fame was that I was one of the only members that MassSkinsFan liked before he went completely ape-shit.

Definitely a good time to start anew. ES was like the Byzantine Empire. It rose in the dark ages (early Snyder), continued through the middle ages (middle Snyder), and snuffed out right before Columbus discovered the new world (the Harris era). And it doesn't look like Harris is going to throw the fans a bunch of small pox infected blankets. Don't get me wrong, ES was great. A truly bright light during a time of great despair. The timing was just wretched.
