The Rookie
Since RG3 was brought up, I’d like to say kudos to him for championing JD5 and not be a curmudgeon.
I think there's something important here. It probably hasn't been since the glory years since I felt like if we were struggling in the first half that we'd figure it out and be better in the second half. Gibbs was amazing at half time adjustment. So was Pettibone. More, the team believed that in what the coaches were selling so that the adjustments had an even better chance at working.I gotta say it was a night of coming to terms in both good and bad ways.
First, the good, knowing at the half being down 10 that the game was not over. It's been since 2012 that I could have that feeling, knowing that the offense could make up that difference.
Second, the bad, knowing that we still make too many mistakes and need to be more disciplined, the OZ TD called back on the holding penalty would have essentially iced it. Also, knowing that our defense either needs Lattimore back soon or the pass rush has to find a way to get home and somebody tape Fowler's arms down so he doesn't even brush the helmet of opposing QB's.
For the season:
Robinson is averaging 4.3
Mcnickls 4.7
Rodrigues 4.9
If you actually watched the game.. Robinson would mostly be tackled by the first tackler.. while Rodriguez consistently broke tackles and got extra yards. Rob also got blown up by blitzing LBs a couple of times.. not a great showing.
Oline didnt do RBs any favors.. but the expectation for Robinson based on his previous play should be higher... i'd like to see more Rodriguez going forward.
Tall you say? 😈Great to see Allegretti receiving kudos, he really showed up last night plus stepped up with the Badass injury.
The idea of checking in on the Jets regarding Wilson is a very good idea, he'd be a sweet add even if he isn't...tall
I think Kirk might have told Penix about his pick 6 tossed to Robert Alford in 2015 as a veteran story. And, once again, Kirk Cousins loses another nail-biter at FedEx/Northwest.
I want Philly first. JD already knows he can beat them. I picked us to win 5 games before the season started. And this is probably a 5 win team without Daniels.Would love to avoid at Philly first weekend.
I'm wondering of B Rob is playing injured, He just doesn't seem himself. I won't give up on him yet but I'd spread the load with other rb's.Him and McNichol both provided some huge plays. I like the juice they offer. B Rob looks worn down constantly getting 1 yard runs is frustrating. I think he needs to sit the finale and just refresh himself.
Has Davis been cut yet? It’s time. I’ll try not to complain watching bsj screw up.
I think Austin Ekeler is eligible to come off IR for the Cowboys game. I doubt that will happen, but perhaps he could be ready for the first round playoff game.I'm wondering of B Rob is playing injured, He just doesn't seem himself. Who’s the defensive backfield coach? Because not just BSJ but ALL our corners are just too damn handsy. They have to coach them out of that. Stop grabbing and trust your cover skills.
He was on 106.7 with Grant Paulson this afternoon but I missed the interview. I’m sure Grant asked about his status… did anybody catch the interview?
I was thinking about that. I see good defenses being handsy all the time. How often have we seen our receivers being manhandled by good defenses all the way down the field with no flags. Sometimes, I think the flag is thrown has a lot to do with reputation. A "good" defense is given deference and latitude whereas a bad defense gets everything called.half of our PIs that i can think of (Lattimore ones) were just flagsy refs
I think its the star power of some receivers throwing their hands up to the refs that gets flags sometimesI was thinking about that. I see good defenses being handsy all the time. Our reputation is that of having a putrid defense. We've been bad at least since Haslett so that's at ten plus years of consistently bad defense.
A lot of those flags will magically disappear in the playoffs. Refs dont want to be involved in ruining a playoff game.I was thinking about that. I see good defenses being handsy all the time.
