Lattimore's injury

In theory the trade for Lattimore seems like a brilliant move. In actuality he now has an extended history of injuries, predominantly to his hamstrings. While he has received Pro Bowl honors 4 times in his career, the latest was in 2021. Since that season he has only averaged 8.6 games per season.

What is that saying about the best ability being availability?

I'm trying to look at it from the most optimistic point of view, that being we gave up a late 4th for an early 5th so that's just a slight move back. 6th round picks don't have a ton of value so a late 3rd and change for even the potential of a shutdown corner is not a terrible gamble even if we roll snake eyes.

just so he plays the right 8.6 games for us, I am happy; we need to pick up a above average cb in FA or the draft.

I’m pretty sure that’s not how it works. 😉 Perhaps not letting Kendall Fuller walk would have been beneficial?

I still have no issue trading for Lattimore. He's under contract for two more years at a reasonable price. CB was a huge need for us(still is) and the draft picks given up are fairly inconquessential.

have trouble posting here- see if it works- Fuller not having a year this year, I hear. But adding a CB in FA or the draft of Fullers quality the last few years would make me feel good about our CB room

Maybe next year we should just hope for Lattimore to play a handful of games targeting when we are facing an ace WR... circle those 8 games on the calendar and not try for the full season with a healthy hammie. Clearly its an injury that we should expect for him to battle the rest of his career. Averaging ~8-9 games a year over the last 4 doesn't reflect the games he had to tap out early. Its time for Harris to fund him seeing the worlds best doc.

I'm not worried about them sitting him against Dallas. We stole the game against Philly without him at the end and probably figured we could handle Atlanta (and now Dallas).

But this guy better strap up for Wild Card Weeked or I'm going to be pissed.

It’s ok. We got #24 at CB…. Antonio Gibson was always a baller, so why not let him try his hand as a cover corner?
