The Jayden Daniels Tracker

Just wanted to note that there is a chance Jayden leads all QB’s in rushing. He’s only about 50 yards behind Lamar now and actually has twice as many rushing TD’s as Lamar.
Not really sure that's a stat we want our QB to own.

He has made incredible use of his legs to get us out of trouble, but I want him passing first and taking fewer hits.

^^^ That's a great (and easy to understand) analysis.

He is passing first though, he's just a great scrambler. He tends to just run when there isn't another option so I'm good wth it. Plus he's been really good about not taking hits really. Though once we have better WRs and line I think we will see that drop since he's pass first.

That last pass to Crowder for the game winner was absolutely amazing. The confidence and courage it took to just rip it right down the middle before Crowder even got out of his break. Sheesh! Anyone still talking up Bo Nix for OROY, have a seat please.

As KDawg said so accurately on this week's podcast - Jayden Daniels isn't just the no-brainer OROY, he's a legit NFL MVP candidate. There's no way he ultimately wins it, but he's certainly made a case for himself to be included in the conversation.

That is an absolutely incredible accomplishment for a rookie QB.

If they win the last two and Philly falters, I could see him winning it, and rightfully so.

OP updated to include:

Washington 36, Philadelphia 33 (12/22/24)

I can't be more excited about Jayden Daniels. However I have become so spoiled after how he played his first 9 games, even when I knew it was unrealistic that he would stay at that level. The narrative that he does not turn the ball over has changed just a bit. He had another 2 interception game last week and now has thrown a pick in 4 of the last 5 games, 2 picks in 2 of those games. Earlier in the season it seemed like every pass was in the perfect spot, now when he misses a receiver or he has to reach down I can't understand how he was not more accurate. Which of course is insane, I had become so spoiled I expect every pass to be perfect and that's just stupid.

JD has had a fantastic rookie season and I'm over the moon about his future, but he's not even close to winning MVP. The only way he has a shot at it over Allen, Lamar, Burrow, or Goff is if he throws 4-5 TDs every single game from now on , while on his way to being Super Bowl winner and MVP. He's just not having a season that's even comparable to those guys.

You guys should look at CJ Stroud last year vs this year.
#5 is having a great season. Let him play and let’s see if it lasts?

OTOH, after forty years in the desert... Maybe it's okay to dance a little when you find some shade and an oasis. Sometimes, it really is okay to be happy for the moment.

I agree with you but this is the jayden I want to see.

The jayden that wasn't throwing picks was also the jayden that was being protected more frequently with screen passes and a heavy run game but when we played the better competition it was predictable and easy to defeat.

For us to have a chance to beat the eagles, ravens, Vikings of the world we need to unleash the beast, the jayden that has 5 touchdowns and 85 yards rushing.
That jayden is unfortunately also going to throw a few more picks that's inevitable but also necessary to make him a dragon slayer and not a game manager.

Or we could enjoy what we are seeing now and worry about next year, I don’t know maybe next year. The kid is playing better than anyone expected, even the most skeptical fans I would hope admit. And even if you have that opinion of expecting it to all collapse, why not enjoy it while you can? The next time a rookie plays this well and turns a team around like Jayden has done, it most likely will be a QB on another team. Enjoy this while you can.

Being ecstatic about JD and being realistic about things like winning MVP aren't mutually exclusive.

Understood but this movie has been played in Washington before.
Just keeping it “Medium “.

Maybe I misread it, but I thought his post was saying, "Don't be happy about Daniels, he may fizzle next year and be fool's gold."

To which I've said, I've been prospecting for so long and hitting nothing but dust that if I strike of vein that the bank is exchanging for wads of cash, I think it's okay to risk a little smile. I may even whoop as long as no one can jump my claim.
