I think the lack of a run game is mostly on Kliff’s shoulders though. I feel like I can call run and where they are going 75% (hyperbole) of the time. If I can call it out then you sure as heck know that the other teams can call it out.

Yet Robinson still averages 4.4 and has a 77.6 PFF grade (depending on how you feel about their system--it's hit and miss for me). So either Robinson is that good, or we have some Original Hog level execution--where we can tell defenses where we're running it and still be successful.

This officiating crew is known to have a hard on for washington. When ever I see Shawn Hochuli leading a crew I have zero expectations of a fairly called game.

Hopefully he’ll ball out at the end of this year and into next year making it hard to move on from him. Im rooting for him but unfortunately I don’t think we’ll see an increase in production.

I said nothing about a 5th year option, he just happens to be entering his 5th year this offseason. Of course a team has the option to cut any player so I guess you could say if they don't bring him back they exercised the 5th year option. It's all symantics and I should have clarified so I'll do that now. I want him back, he's good. I also think they should look to upgrade the positon and as I had said I would not offer him a 2nd contract for what it would cost.

In 38 games played and 542 rushes and 60 catches he has two lost fumbles. with no fumbles this year
His stats each year are getting better
He wont be an expensive extension contract
He is 16th in Yards rushing per game
He is 12th in yards per carry

He is a high level starting running back in the league

I think we saw that a bit more than usual last week, but a big factor there was the Saints DL was winning some individual battles with our OL. If BRob is supposed to run between two OL and they are both just barely holding their own, it starts to be difficult to do much other than run in the backs of the OL, especially with a certain philosophy in play (they think that the OL can clear a hole and BRob should exercise more patience). BRob, we have seen it many times, he is capable of powering through tackles. He is definitely a good, solid back, he would be grabbed very quickly if we released him, and he would likely be effective. I say likely because fit is really hard to predict; no one is a guaranteed fit for their landing spot.

We likely need to replace Ekeler for next season as well. With the bad concussion he might retire and it’s hard to count on his health.

Those are both great RBs and both went to teams with great, established OL as well. I would be more for strengthening OL first before grabbing some RB out of FA. I would go cheaper on RB for now (not saying "cheap" but "cheaper" than blue-chip potentially. Of course, this isn't a zero-sum game, it may be possible to do more than one thing at a time.

Good to see you again Martin. This is what I've been say, and I had no idea my comment would kick off such a lengthy discussion. Let him play out the contract but don't offer a 2nd deal for what it would cost. RBs are just so easy to find today and their value is not what it used to be. I loved the Eckler signing, still do. But yeah at this point he can't be counted on.

On Hoffmans broadcast the other day he mentioned that a couple mock drafts have us selecting a RB at some point. Im confident we will draft one but not sure how high in the draft and how much of a priority it will be. At this point who knows what will fall to us. Would absolutely love a blue chip RB though.

Just find a guy like Swift in the 2nd round. We saw how he turned the corner and had the speed to outrun defenders against us for a long TD. We need more players with that type of explosive speed along with the power, they are available.

I think you're probably right.

Barkley and Henry are probably the two most talented backs in the league. Let's be clear though - how great was Barkley last year?
The team around obviously matters, but you'd be stupid (or you'd be the Giants? Haha) to think that Barkley was not extremely valuable as an RB. There is some Math here too, that both of these teams know. There is a lot of *value* in the RB position right now, it is being undervalued. So as that happens, you can get great production from that position for less $$$ which in a salary cap league, matters. That translates to wins.

Pretty sure Adam also knows this. I am pretty sure we have one of the elite GMs. I am not sure about HC, OC, DC, but at GM? Yeah, I think we're good. <-- I am not saying we have "bad" coaches, but I am saying our GM could be a top-5 GM

I believe many here are underrating BRob, but that doesn't mean he will be here after his contract is up. The 49ers are very willing to shift to other RBs due to their scheme lending itself well to many RBs (however they did eventually get a blue-chip dude). Here, with Kliff, I think the equation is different. I don't think they will highly value RB for different reasons under Kliff.

We'll see how it all pans out. Lots of things can change. I could see Adam deciding that BRob fits on cost/benefit in certain circumstances, and if so, he could keep him too.
