If Kicker tryouts started tomorrow....

I do not understand the hate for gonzalez and the love for seibert.

Coming into this game Gonzales had the longest active streak in the nfl of 20 in a row, he also was 6 of 8 on kicks yesterday, extra points aren't gimmes anymore and hitting 6 of them is not something that should be completely ignored.

But more importantly to me all of his kicks fly end over end and straight, the two he missed he simply pushed but the ball flight was very good, seibert has kicked curveballs and had multiple wounded ducks.

I'm not opposed to trying out kickers but I'm not ready to hate on Gonzales because he pushed a couple kicks just out to the right.

Not a huge fan of either. I will say I could tell it was game over for Gonzalez yesterday when he kept messing with his hair before putting on his helmet.

I agree I'm not sold on either one and have no objections to exploring better options (assuming there's even a chance there are any at this point in the season) I was just a little surprised by the disdain for Gonzales especially since all he's done wrong is two slight misses on kicks that looked reasonably good flight wise.

He hasn't missed enough or ugly enough for me to be on the hate wagon is all I'm trying to say but you could hear the ice cracking yesterday after the second miss.

And yeah the hair thing was a little strange, my guess is it was much less about appearance and more about pre kick ritual like nomar garciapara messing with his gloves before every at bat or just simply a psychological thing where he feels better if his hair is trapped and not draped down and pressed against his forehead, athletes have all sorts of little idiosyncracies that help them get focused.

One of the nice things about the UFL is it should be a good testing ground for kickers. Same pressure, distance, etc. Should translate.
