Official Game Thread - Week 13 - Titans @ Commanders

I'm sure they anticipated Lattimore to play no later than after the bye week.

The fact that he is isn't just a rent a player for remainder of the season along with his great skills made him an excellent target for Peters.

His backfield addition is going to be an incredible talent boost to our D and make the current talent look better
 
Hamstrings are a tough read. You never know when it'll rear up and say "Yo!!! Remember me?" after you tweak one.

I pulled my right about five weeks ago doing stiff-legged deadlifts. Seemed sore... no pain at all the next day. Next leg day in the rotation, took it easy and stuck with leg curls. Felt fine... five minutes later the right one said "Betcha thought we forgot all about you!!!"

Since then, I still feel a small twinge after leg curls and have yet to return to a full hardcore hamstring workout. Now... I'm almost 52 and he's younger with pro meds around him, but that doesn't mean the body is any easier.

Two weeks to prepare for a Saints team that is taking it to the Rams hard right now. Playoffs appear pretty likely at this point as well.

Why do people keep saying playoffs are likely now? I saw some odds thing that said if they lost to TN their odds would sit at 40% and if they won, 60%.

Given the game against DAL, the remaining games including PHI, and the other teams closeby in standings, that sounded right and not how I characterize likely (60%). Where is the disconnect?

well 60% is better than 40% ;)
we're 2 games up on the next wild card team in the NFC
we're looking at likely going at least 2-2 the rest of the season.. and 10 wins is enough to lock up a wild card spot.
 
Arizona is 6-6 and we have the tie breaker so essentially they’re 3 behind us with 4 to play

Tampa bay is 6-6 and they have the tie breaker, with a weak schedule, but they’re tied for their division lead. If they finish it off it won’t matter.

Atlanta is 6-6 and we are yet to play them, if we beat them they simply can’t catch us.

The likelihood of any of these teams going 4-1 and us going worse than 2-2 is low. Not impossible, but low if you look at our schedule.
 
There are no guarantees in the NFL ever. But we are in great shape in a season very few saw us as a playoff participant. So excited!

It's pretty hard to describe how badly I wanted that this year when we were 7-2.
It's 95 percent of the source of my frustration from our 3 game losing streak.

33 years of either sucking or hoping to claw our way into the playoffs as a late season Cinderella team had me wanting just one season where we cruised into the playoffs even if there was no way we were gonna be a favorite.

It'll come eventually I just have to be patient a little longer.

Yes, I am usually pretty literal. I think I wouldn't consider it likely until they win again; it is just my mentality. If you can lose to DAL in that situation; yes, I know, division opponent - it is true. A former coach involved as well, which can really motivate. Still, I think that game really should have been a W for a true contender. I think given the way they lost (55 minutes of 0 Offense), they can truly lose to anyone until proven differently. That's not really a team I will say "likely" with their remaining schedule. They need another W in the bank. If everyone expects 2-2 to make it, I assume everyone is assuming Saints/Falcons as their 2? Or 2 of Saints/Falcons/Cowboys? I mean, to me, that's closer to 50/50 given how they played the Cowboys, until they hopefully get a W against NOS.

I am thrilled with their overall play this year. It's just, after the Cowboys game, my expectations are much more grounded. I told myself if they lost that game, I would adjust accordingly.
 
So the Dallas loss is some barometer of the rest of the way, but dominating a good team with one of the leagues better defenses in the Titans is meaningless? Help me understand.

I get tempering expectations this season, but there was nothing unique about losing that Dallas game and it was no more a critical game to win than was the Titans game.

It doesn't help that a minor reinfection was only cleared a couple of years ago.
 
O.m.g. I've had undiagnosed nourvesness all these years?

It's so liberating to finally have a diagnosis
 
That’s fair but look at who they’ve played and they have a normal rookie QB, not one whose having arguably the best rookie season in NFL history.
 
Will Levis is not a rookie though based on his play that’s mostly academic.
 
Cooper Rush is a never was at quarterback and we found a way to lose to Dallas.

This is a week to week league and while Washington can win any week it can also lose if the focus and attention to detail are not there.

So far this season Washington has been fairly consistent overall. We have beaten the teams with less or similar talent or ones compromised by major injuries and lost games against the best teams on the schedule in Philly, Baltimore, Pittsburgh, etc.

WITH THE EXCEPTION of Dallas.

And because it was a Dallas team without Dak Prescott, Zack Martin and a host of other key players the loss AT HOME was especially galling.
 
Anyone else find it interesting how much better the OL looked when Cornelius Lucas replaced Wylie.... coincidence?

The OL looked great early in the year with Wiley.

Wiley is who he is. Hes not great, but he’s not as bad as he looked last season either. EB and Howell put him, and the entire OL, in incredibly bad situations all the time.

Wiley is fine if he’s not expected to win 1:1 pass blocking battles 30 times a game.

They’re are better stats then Wiley and it’s very possible they draft a guy to replace him.

Wiley is actually much more athletic than Lucas, so when they pull the tackles and get them put in space, he’s better. Lucas is bigger and has a better anchor but not as good reacting to speed rushers.

Having said all that, I wouldn’t be shocked if you didn’t see some type of a rotation at RT. Like they did early in the season on the left side.
